Just say no to Bowe

I seriously doubt Hall of Fame scribe Rick "Goose" Gosselin considered the following info when he bumped LSU WR Dwayne Bowe down several spots in his mock draft. But let me explain to you why the Cowboys absolutely, positively cannot draft Bowe.
He went to LSU. That's it. That's the reason.

Consider the Cowboys' luck with LSU guys. Gil Brandt and Jimmy Johnson were smart enough to never draft a Bayou Bengal. Here's hoping Jerry has wised up after getting burned a whole bunch.

Check out the LSU products the Cowboys have drafted:
TE David LaFleur, first round, 1997 -- The Cowboys took LaFleur, a bust even before his back went bad, with the 22nd overall pick. Can bad karma possibly be any clearer?
LB Bradie James, fourth round, 2003 -- James played just well enough to fool Jerry into giving him a big contract. Now, he's the butt of Jon Kitna's jokes.
OG Stephen Peterman, third round, 2004 -- If Jacob Rogers weren't picked in the previous round, Peterman might be the worst pick of the Tuna's career.
DE Marcus Spears, first round, 2005 -- Maybe Bill Parcells' system was Spears' problem, but he sure has a ton to prove entering his third season.
WR/KR Skyler Green, fourth round, 2006 -- Gotta love burning a fourth-rounder on a guy who is J.A.G. on the practice squad

Actually, with so many LSU "misses" we're bound to get a good player from the school if we just keeping trying lol. The odds are in our favor with Bowe!

That is without a doubt some of the worst reasoning I have ever heard for not picking a player in the draft. Judge the prospect for their measurables and what they do/did on the field, not your history with other players from that school.

If Dallas had the #1 pick this year and Calvin Johnson was from LSU and not Georgia Tech, would you pass on him just because of where he played his college football at? If you said yes, go sit in the corner for a while and don't forget to put on the hat either:

:laugh2: As much as they've burned us, we're "due" for about 5 hits. We should start drafting ONLY LSU players.

Has MacMahon EVER said anything relevant?

All he does is say, "hey look at this guys! i'm never ever going to talk football, and you can't make me! nah nah nahhhhhhhhhh!"

DallasEast, I know what you mean. I really don't think Lafluer was a bust before his injury, I just think he wasn't "Tony Gonzles"
I watch evry home game in Stephen Peterman's LSU career, and I thought he would be the real deal.
Bradie and Spears have just been average so far, but I'm expecting more under Phillips.
Now Green, that's on Parcells. Ithought he would be a solid punt retuner, but even I thought the fourth round was too early.
Boew will break the streak if we pick him. he got better every year, especially after his lasik eye surgery. He will also help the running game, as he is an outstanding blocker. He is Michael Irvin Jr. (without the off-field trouble.)

Sadly this is pretty much the same type of logic people are using with Ginn. You don't have to like the guy, but if you're gonna put him down, get some legit reasoning to back your arguments.

GOOD POINT

I believe that they shouldn't take a chance on a LSU guy. I really like Bowe but he makes an interesting point, why go after a guy that comes from a school LSU, that had players that attended that have gotten drafted by the Dallas Cowboys turn out to be what they hype perceived.

Really from looking at his statistics it's not really impressive. I guess I got hung up on the highlights that yahoo have of him.

I believe strongly that the Cowboys should draft Dwayne Jarrett. Why?, because he would be a steal, this guy hasn't had a bad year in college, by the way he doesn't know what a bad year looks like.

I really like the guy Dwayne Jarrett. I do like Ted Ginn and Robert Meachem too. Ted Ginn reminds me of a Reggie Bush at Wide Receiver, but he's more like Santana Moss, somebody that could burn you out of your shoes.

I like Meachem because he has nice size with blazing speed and could get alot of yards after catch. But if I had to choose I would pick Dwayne Jarrett because he's fits the Cowboys type of Wide Receiver. Romo would make Jarrett look just like he did in college, a monster, and this will really bolster our Wide Receiver core diffently with Terrell Owens on the team.

I believe Terrell Owens will help DJ and Sam Hurd. These will be the wide receivers he take under his wing to show them the finer tools in peforming out on the field as a wide receiver.

Out of curiosity, did you read the Chat Transcript from the Huddle Report in the Daily Zone?

Per their analysis there is more draftable talent at LSU this year than any other school.

Oh, and Mr. McMahon, if you read this site and have the balls; please name me a college that has prospects you are interested in for any round. I guarantee you I can find in our history where some of them have been good, and some have flopped. The only possible exceptions would be 1 time picks from small schools. At which point I will defy you to show me the great players at those schools today that we should draft.

Everyone was on this bandwagon when the PSU jinx came up for why we should not take Larry Johnson.

No, bad point.

The only reason you're supporting this is because you assume that no to Bowe means yes to Jarrett.
