I'm sure the teams that drafted Joseph Addai, Devery Henderson, Dominick Davis, Anthony McFarland, Kevin Faulk, Alan Faneca, Eddie Kennison, Kevin Mawae, etc. wish they would have listened to McMahon.

I normally don't like to ride the media, but this guy's suffering from a severe shortage of mental bandwidth.

Superstars and sure fire hall of famers each and every one of them.

There are some University's who have great college talent, and great college teams, that don't translate to the pros. LSU and Nebraska come to mind. Yeah they put some in the pros, but not many become stars. On the other hand, there are some schools who do poorly on the playing field, but send alot of players to the pros. No. Carolina St. and A&M are such schools.

I seriously doubt Hall of Fame scribe Rick "Goose" Gosselin considered the following info when he bumped LSU WR Dwayne Bowe down several spots in his mock draft. But let me explain to you why the Cowboys absolutely, positively cannot draft Bowe.
He went to LSU. That's it. That's the reason.
Consider the Cowboys' luck with LSU guys. Gil Brandt and Jimmy Johnson were smart enough to never draft a Bayou Bengal. Here's hoping Jerry has wised up after getting burned a whole bunch.
Check out the LSU products the Cowboys have drafted:
TE David LaFleur, first round, 1997 -- The Cowboys took LaFleur, a bust even before his back went bad, with the 22nd overall pick. Can bad karma possibly be any clearer?
LB Bradie James, fourth round, 2003 -- James played just well enough to fool Jerry into giving him a big contract. Now, he's the butt of Jon Kitna's jokes.
OG Stephen Peterman, third round, 2004 -- If Jacob Rogers weren't picked in the previous round, Peterman might be the worst pick of the Tuna's career.
DE Marcus Spears, first round, 2005 -- Maybe Bill Parcells' system was Spears' problem, but he sure has a ton to prove entering his third season.
WR/KR Skyler Green, fourth round, 2006 -- Gotta love burning a fourth-rounder on a guy who is J.A.G. on the practice squad

I'm a bigger fan of most of the WR's, but I think Bowe will be the 2nd one off the board, and I think he goes to SF or a team like him. Most of the teams with big WR needs already have a speed guy (SF has Ashley Leilee), so they aren't going to be all that interested in Gin,Jr...I think they go Bowe as a very talented possession guy who will go over the middle.

I emailed JJT about asking the higher-ups about posting on the blog more, guess they aren't listening. ~sigh~

McMahon has no football background that I'm aware of. He's a b-ball beat guy. He should stick to that.

No offense to anyone on the Zone, but reading some of his blog entries rank up there with some who post here. If I want to read fan logic, I'll just stick to reading this board.

Are you suggesting that Texas A&M has sent more players into the NFL over the recent past than LSU? Or are you suggesting that Texas A&M has more "stars" in the league right now than LSU?

I guess it really doesn't matter because you would be wrong on either count.

I agree with that. But you know we have some folks here who posts things where he'd fall right in line with them. The kinda stuff where all you do is scratch your head after reading it.

I get that he was lousy down the stretch last year, but seriously, why does everyone seem to think he's a bust? He got picked in the 4th round and he's a decent starter. If he were a great all around player, he would have been taken before the 4th round. He wasn't even all that bad until the end of the year when the entire defense was pretty bad.

I agree...nobody was talking about him being a bad player after the 2005 season, in fact everyone was praising Parcells for finding such a gem in the 4the rd...he didnt turn turn sorry overnight

the scheme had some fatal flaws...James is not lousy nor is he a bust...

gonna be alot of our players looking eons better this yr

Actually, with so many LSU "misses" we're bound to get a good player from the school if we just keeping trying lol. The odds are in our favor with Bowe!

Very true, but I used that same theory betting the Yankees last night thinking that there is no way they get swept by the Red Sox....
