I remember him worrying about voiding an insurance policy if he had played and gotten hurt.

Jerry took care of him by replacing what he would have lost and he played.

That was a private business deal between him and Jerry.

None of my business.
Then don't say this:
All he would do is whine and cry ..... he would always show up for work and work hard.
Because its not true.

So because of one isolated incident over millions of dollars I am not allowed to say Ellis always showed up to work and worked hard for us?

Guess Emmitt Smith did not either.

I think we could do without the sage advice from Mack Brown and make up our own minds. I still recall how his commentary about Greg Ellis worked out.

That was my exact thought when I read the title of this thread.

Mack Brown ... typical college coach prone to hyperbole when it comes to his own players. I'd take anything he said about one of his guys with a grain of salt.

Every time I read the phrase "coachable wide receiver" or "coachable Roy Williams", I want to punch Tim McMahon right in his stupid face.

I agree Mack is going to have a bias view of his players. I do agree with him at RW is a very good WR and was in a bad situation in Det and I think that environment in Det wears on a player and leaving Det will prove to be a great thing for Williams. RW has a chance to come home and play for a team he grew up watching, he does have some very good physical talent and has been very motivated this offseason in developing a chemistry with Romo and I do believe he is going to prove many critics wrong.

Just because you show up and work hard doesn't mean you can't complain while you are doing it all the time. I have people that I work with that are good workers and even perform very well. They still complain the whole way.

We are talking about Eeyore Greg Ellis. The most defeatist team "leader" I have ever seen. This is the same man who cited after a poor preseason game last year that everyone was "sad" and "missed their family". What?

Thats what I am saying.

I am not defending Greg's Eeyore attitude ...... just that what Mack said about him was true.

Greg was a good football player and a good person.

He is also just a bitter complaining suspicious player who was always worrying about his spot and his "role" on the team.

What is with this coachable Roy Williams/Coachable WR stuff that he has to throw into every article that he mentions Roy in? Where did that come from? People like Tim just don't realise exactly how stupid they look when they're out there trying to be cute.

I'm just curious where and why he started going with this about Roy.
