Roy hasn't made a single hard hit since 2006. He hasn't made a significant impact in run support since 2005. And we all know he's useless in coverage.

Tell me again why we keep him...

We need a game changer at safety and this year's draft doesn't appear to have that kind of guy in it.

:laugh2: :lmao: ummmm...I beg to differ.

I say cut Roy now, it'll save $2.2 million and he won't be taking reps away from a draft pick. Go in the draft and look at a cover safety. Tell Henry to be prepared to play some safety and corner next year. Then also draft a corner.

You can then start Henry off playing some safety while the rookie learns and if the rookie picks it up pretty well, then move Henry back to corner and playing some safety in the nickel and dime packages.

Jenkins is too immature for a starting role. Especially if he is modeling his mentality after TO and Pacman.

I saw restructure his contract in a way that if need be he can be dumped next season during the uncapped year while lighting the load this year.

Jerry always seems to get himself in trouble when resigning players. Roy, TO, Emmitt, etc.

The difference is Roy's contract isn't so prohibitive that he can't be cut. Neither is T.O.'s. T.O.'s cap number is virtually the same whether he stays or goes.

And truthfully, the team hasn't been in cap trouble in years. It's just a matter of cap maneuverability.

Is Roy so bad that you take the hit for a player no longer on the team? Can the team rebuild the depth for the safety position through the draft and free agency? I haven't looked at the list of FA safeties yet, so once I do that, I'll have a better idea.

I understand folks want to move Henry to safety, but Henry has yet to stay completely healthy a full season since he's been on the team, so that has to be a concern.

Roy is done.

Cut him lets move on.

He is not a fit for the 3-4.

But at the same time the Safety crop this year is weak. So drafting one is murky.

The only solution is to go to the Free Agency. But is there an adequate safety we can pick up for the long term?

I think Roy will probably stay.

If they did, there would be even less quality writers than there are now.

Would you honestly put money on that? honestly?

Only because Flozell would have a head start after jumping the count ....

No kidding.

It's hard to believe that this is the best that the beat writers covering the Dallas Frickin' Cowboys for the Dallas Morning News can do.

You rarely see intelligent, well-written feature stories or news stories. With them, you get lazy, half-*****, incoherent blog entries.

Just draft Louis Delmas and Emanual Cook and be done with it.

If I could get Roy for a price more indicative of his last few years of play, I would keep him. But that would not keep me from drafting someone to compete for that post as a back up plan. Personally, I am more for dropping Anthony Henry or seeing what we can get for him via trade. His lack of speed and size make's him a liability against any team who have more than one speedster. I doubt we could get much for him, but that would free up some cap space.
