Screw the Cowboys for this move.

Owens was the man and he worked hard for this team.

I can't believe we cut an amazing player who wants to win as much as anyone because of Espn drama.

Cowboys are throwing a last second hail Mary and hoping someone catches it with this move.

I liked him better when he wasn't talking.

Agreed. I also remember Barber as being named as one of the ones whose attitude slowly was changing for the worse after becoming chummy with TO.

I wish they would all shut up. Really. Just shut up and play. Don't tell us how talented you are, don't tell us your new slogan, don't tell us anything except you're not interested in talking because you haven't won or done anything yet.

Screw the Cowboys? Are you serious? I'll be the first to admit I never wanted TO here. But if you really think that Jerry Jones of all people really is willing to toss one of his favorite players, get nothing on 9 + mill in salary because of bad press, you're kidding yourself.

If he truly believed another Super Bowl was in reach with Owens here, he would still be here. ESPN did not run Owens out of Dallas, Owens did. Common theme among Owens supporters is "it's not his fault." Hauntingly familiar as it's Owens standard MO.

There's a huge difference between being a friend and a good teammate. I've had some really good friends I would never want to be on the same field/court.

It's starting to look like Romo didn't want him around...

I was thinking that too after Babe L. interview.

Romo never said he wanted T.O. back

Uh, to me him saying that he's a great guy is irrelevant. Saying that they couldn't work it out in the locker room is saying that TO was definitely causing a tension.

Someone (Cowlishaw?) warned us that there would be pockets of pro-TO racial solidarity, and now it's come to fruition. TO is gone, but his influence lingers on.

The T.O. supporters would say "It's not ALL his fault".

There are plenty of players/coaches to blame on the Offensive side of the ball.

This is so funny, the pro-TO supporters will latch on to anything pro-TO, and the anti-TO antagonists will discredit anything pro-TO. This site does seem to have a lot of lemmings.

A member of the offense said he was a good guy. Not in the way that Ratliff or Ellis were *****ing about it, but I'll take it.

I will take back some posts from earlier yesterday.

Still, a guy that draws that amount of attention, his fault or not, is very troublesome.
major props to you cause unlike some you admitted you might have been wrong and made a mistake.

takes a big man to do that and there arent many on this board

he had no reason being cut and people in our front office just fell for the overblown media coverage that helped lead to his release

Barber didn't say work it out. The quote says they needed to "come together as one" and "make it work as a whole." He may have just been talking about the team losing down the stretch and not playing "together." It's unclear as to whether or not he was talking about the supposed Owens/Witten/Romo stuff.

Some people on here who have said they have inside sources dispute that Owens and Romo were "feuding," despite media reports, and in fact claim they are "friends." Doesn't add up. Somebody's wrong here.

Last quote says a lot:

"It starts in the locker room with any team I firmly believe that, and its unfortunate that we couldn't get a hold of it."

They are called opinions and it happens with every living, breathing person on the planet, including the one who looks back at you when you shave. We all ratify the ideas that agree with our opinions.

While I think (make that know) the media was always piling on Owens, he did bring it on himself. Had he not been the source of so much controversy during his career, he'd have just been another great player. Marvin Harrison was great, but he didn't give the media reason to jump on everything he did. You can say the same thing about many other great players/receivers. Look at Owens, Chad Johnson, Burress, Moss, etc. Yea, the media blows things our of proportion, but they only do it to lightning rods. The old saying "you reap what you sow" comes to mind.

While Jerry Jones has many faults, I don't in any way think he would cut Owens just to appease the media. He just isn't built that way. There were problems. That much is apparent.

You dont call out the hand that feeds you. Romo and Jason Garrett are the guys running the show on offense, TO is a moron for thinking he can call them out and not wear out his welcome.
