WRs Miles Austin (hamstring) and Sam Hurd (quadriceps) aren't ready to return after missing most of the last two weeks. They're not dressed out.

Others not practicing: K Nick Folk (hip), WR Travis Wilson (knee), LB Justin Rogers (unsure), LB Stephen Hodge (calf), WR Isaiah Stanback (knee), DT Tim Anderson (knee) and DE Igor Olshansky (back).

DE Jason Hatcher, who missed all of OTAs while recovering from a knee injury, is dressed out.

Fourth-round LB Victor Butler and seventh-round CB Mike Mickens, who missed OTAs while finishing their college classwork, are also out here.

The part that is the most frustrating is Austin. I want this guy to take over the number 2 spot but this guy always has setbacks.

Man, I sure do hope Jerry is getting the DAILY report about his wide receivers already being hurt.

Did you type that while humming a bay city roller tune in your head?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Hurd is no less injury prone anymore.

I realize it is "early" and "just a minicamp", but when does a sense of urgency take effect? Late in preseason?

I agree. Right now I would rather the staff be cautions with putting a player with a hamstring injury on the field during OTA but it is concerning that we continue to see this with Austin.

We will add a vet WR. We cant trust these two, they are injury prone.

I can't help but feel that wide receiver will be this year's 'backup quarterback'.

Much like the team's failure to have a quality backup QB cost them in 2008, I think the lack of quality receiver depth will ultimately cost them in 2009.

A real vet WR with a legitimate chance? I doubt it.

We will probably go the Willie Reid route and of course, regret our lack of foresight later.

There is a position like that every year. That one "i" that does not get dotted comes back to roost. Thing is, this one has had plenty of advance notice and it is not too late.

Frustrating when you can see 'the wreck' coming but are powerless to do anything about it.

Stinks that Hodge isn't able to go. Hope that calf thing isn't something serious.

And Igor's back concerns me a little, just because back problems are notoriously hard to diagnose and always seem to pop up sporadically. Hopefully it's some kind of muscle pull or something and nothing structural.

At least Hatcher is back, though.

The Brad Johnson mistake was similar to the way this one will be if they continue to sit and we don't get some insurance.

The idea was that we would be fine with Johnson in a support role, just as we believed Hurd, Austin and Stanback had us covered this year.

I have no problem with having a question mark on the roster.

A developmental guy like Stanback or Austin who you feel have the potential to develop into solid players.

It's the number of question marks that this team has that concerns me.

They have a lot more than one.

Hurd, Austin, Stanback.....all seem to keep having these nagging injuries.
