Holland is looking at a more unconventional method in his rehab: hyperbaric chamber. Holland used one in training camp with a hamstring injury and believed he returned quicker.

"I'm doing everything I can do," Holland said.

Holland said he was not sure he would be able to practice Thursday but was not ready put the kybosh on the week. If neither Holland nor Kosier can play, then Phil Costa will start and Young, a tackle by trade, would be the backup guard.

I'd just as soon let Costa start and see what he can do.

I know what we have in Holland... A decent servicable guard...

Agreed. We need to find out what we have in our younger players.

On the flip side, a young player got our franchise QB hurt.

There's two sides to that coin. Young players are going to make mistakes. Sometimes big ones.

I'm not opposed to playing young players, but I don't think people should assume that young players are always ready to play just because the team has "nothing to lose."

I think it's funny that our primary backup to an injury prone LG is an injury prone LG...

Just start Costa, unless he's wretched.

:bow::bow: Excellent point

I think Holland has a real chance to be one of your starting guards next season.

He possibly does, but his constant "nicks & scratches" is getting a little old.

Everything is a little old this season.

I would like to know if he is someone the team can count on though without getting injured every week.

Holland is the Jason Hatcher of the OL

Well, except that he actually plays from time to time

I told you guys about Holland getting hurt.

Hurt at Pittsbugh (1st quarter).. Done.
Hurt in camp...
Hurt in Tennessee game coming off the bench...
Hurt now...

Plus, it took him forever to get Cory Proctor off the field...

Play Costa and see what he has...IMO

Broaddus stated that he thought Costa played good (considering the circumstances) and played good in space...

Holland is a guy who should be cut next year, imo.

He is nothing more than an expensive backup guard who is very limited in space and isn't athletic.

I agree, lets see what Costa can do out there.
