Preston ... er ... Drew Pearson not optimistic about Ring of Honor chances

It's been 26 years since Drew Pearson caught the last pass in his storied career for the Cowboys.
He knows he'll have to wait at least one more year to be inducted into Ring of Honor, so Jerry Jones has already said nobody would be added during the first season in the new stadium. And Pearson, a member of the NFL's All-Decade from the '70s, isn't holding his breath that he'll be included with the greatest of the Cowboys' greats at any point.
"There's nothing you can do about it," Pearson said on ESPN 103.3. "My records speak to itself. I can't add to those numbers. I can't go out there and catch any more passes. It's there. If it's good enough, then I'll be up there. If it's not, then I won't, and apparently at this point, it's not."
If you wonder whether Pearson belongs in the Ring of Honor, just ask Roger Staubach, who believes his favorite receiver ought to be in the Hall of Fame.
Pearson said he's never discussed the issue with Jerry, the one-man selection committee.
Pearson tried to present a business idea to Jerry a few years ago, but he never got a call back. They do occasionally see each other at functions, and the owner makes small talk with Pearson.
"He speaks to me," Pearson said, "but you know, with all due respect, he calls me Preston more than he calls me Drew."
