Its the second week in a row he has said it. How long before he realizes they are not more talented and they need to go out and play every snap like its their last.
That's kinda what he said.

It wasn't just Taylor and King. Even Bledsoe AND Dan Campbell came out and said Parcells wanted Owens.

Like I said-go ahead and laugh your *** off all you want. You seem like you need it after what happened yesterday.
When you finally get to Parcells, it'll be worth it.

You forgot about all those meetings and phone calls Parcells had with Drew Rosenhaus leading up to the signing.

It was also reported fairly heavily in the media as well.

It was reported several times that Jerry went to Parcells two or three times before he pulled the trigger on TO to make sure he was okay with it.

It was definitely a Jerry-initiated move, but Parcells could've refused TO if he felt that strongly about it.

Love this quote from McMahon about Wade.

If you're looking for fire, Phillips is not your man. Players don't fear him, but Phillips feels like his laidback approach can still work with a talented team in a tailspin.

"I'm not changing," he said. "I'm going to coach the way I coach, and I think they're going to respond."

Anyone else comforted by that fact?

I don't think that either Gurode's or James comments are of much concern but if I had to take issue with one or the other it would be Gurode's.

The negative interpretation of Gurode's comment is that they are doing everything they can to break out of this and just have to "keep fighting." Really? Did yesterday look like a team that is "fighting?" I thought it looked just the opposite.

James comments to me are actually a possible confession that the team has been kind of full of themselves and now they realize differently.

Those are just my interpretations from reading the same quotes that other folks took just the opposite view on. Now what did either of the players really mean? I don't know.

I think we need to look at their on-field play to see if they get it. If it doesn't translate, what's the use?

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, and THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are any of you Parcells-apologists reading this now??

If you're the head coach and the general manager is adding a player to your roster, wouldn't you want to know some details about the transaction?

There's a Parcells quote out there somewhere regarding his thoughts concerning Owens being added to the roster. I'll look for it after work.

FYI-Chocolate Lab backs me up. Read his(or her) post above.

That's understood CL. However, does anyone know for certain how Parcells felt about the transaction?

He can't change now. He is who he is. Wade starts acting like a maniac, or yelling, it becomes phony and the players sense that and things get worse if that's possible.

He's got to bank on his 31 years in the NFL, hope these players finally get it and make the best of these last 9 games.

Hey, the last thing I want to do is get in the middle of a Parcells argument. :)

TO clearly isn't Parcells' type of player. Maybe Parcells knew he wouldn't be here much longer and thought it was worth the gamble.

knowing how ESPN and our local media do their jobs, if Jerry did it with Parcells blessing it would have been plastered all over the newspapers and sportscenter

It doesn't matter how he FELT. Bottom line, he had a chance to kill the deal, but he DIDN'T.

It's alot like a 16 year old kid being coaxed by his peers to sneak into a bar with fake IDs. While he knows it's WRONG, he nonetheless has has a strong urge to do so. But ultimately when he DOES do so at the MERE urging of his peers...do you blame HIS peers for urging him on? Nope-he had the CHOICE to make the right decision, and ultimately if he gets in trouble, it's his own fault. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Parcells is a big boy. He had the chance to make the right decision, but didn't.

It's possible CL.

Boysboy, I placed CL's comment in bold and a little red for you to do the hammer thingy. :) ;)

Good point BigDFan5.

Boysboy may not like it though.

Or I see it the other way around-Parcells can do no wrong b/c he has 2 Super Bowls, and has taken 2 more teams far in the playoffs. So in essence, he gets a pass on EVERYTHING.

So ultimately, if a cancer guy like Owens gets on Parcells' team, then it must be Jerry's, and ONLY Jerry "I love trouble players" Jones' doing, right?

Yeah-that's the best case scenerio for the media to spin it.

As for the local media? Yeah-alot of our guys here confimed Parcells DID OK the Owens deal.

That was supposed to be "without" sorry :embarrassed:

Come on you can see the JFE article already cant you?

"Coach Jerry ignores the legend Bill Parcells"

By Jen Engel

blah blah blah LOL

Exactly how do you know for certain that IF Parcells had "vetoed the plan" that Jones would not have overridden his veto? Exactly who do you believe was in control of the Dallas Cowboys during Parcells tenure?

Well, one thing's for certain. Parcells is no 16-year old...

Sorry-not good enough. Either Parcells OK'd the deal, or didn't. There's no "well he knew he wasn't going to be here any longer", "he thought the risk was OK", blah, blah, blah...Why do we end up making excuses for the guy??

He pulled similar stunts like this in NE and the NYJ.

Good point BigDFan5.

Boysboy may not like it though.

*sigh* Like I said-our local media guys like JJT did. Peter King(the biggest national media guy) confirmed it too.
