DMN Blog:Romo might want to give Drew Bledsoe a call

Yeah give Bledsoe a call...

"Honey, it's the guy that stole your job in Dallas and effectively ended your career as you stood scowling on the sidelines for the rest of the season..."

I don't know if he should play or not.

If he can rest 3 weeks and be close to 100% against NYG, then I have no problem with it.

If we the rest of the team were to play to its potential, we'd win anyway.

But if the DRs feel the risk isn't significant - at least in addition to the risk of playing QB period - and he can handle the pain, play away.

You guys are crazy to think risking losing Romo for the season is a good gamble.

That's for darn sure. What do you have a vet backup for if you're not gonna use him? People bag on Johnson, but in this offense he'll be just fine for a couple games. Let Romo's hand heal for 21 days and maybe you bring him back for the Giants, but we can get by the next 2 weeks.

I don't think Romo needs to talk to others about how he feels. Most players want to play even despite an injury. The coaching staff has to be the deciding factor based off what they see from Romo through out the week. As of yesterday Romo threw off to the side but did not practice that means he is not taking snaps from center can he handle that without fumbling the ball? What is his accuracy like right now? does his passes lose zip and accuracy after a few throws? only way to know this is to see it during the week.

Don't know if you caught Jimmy Johnson on Mike & Mike but he said the same thing. No way you can play the guy as of now because he hasn't proven anything in practice. Now maybe today he has? But if he just throws on the side it's dangerous at best to let him start.

I think they should make sure Flo can feel his left arm before even thinking about putting Romo out there.

Story not correct - That break was major and Bledsoe was playing with the pin sticking out of his finger. Directed two unbelievable 4th qtr comebacks in freezing December cold in foxboro.

Bledsoe would tell him to play.

According to what was just posted Romo is at practice today. I'm sure the staff will be watching closely at how the injury may or may not affect his throws and just as important how the finger reacts after practice and the next day. My gut feeling is Johnson will start Sunday and the club will give that finger extra time. We will see.

You sure know a lot about your Patriot football.

If it fires this team up, yes, it is worth it.

I guess it remains to be seen. I haven't seen much of anything fire this team up in the past 3 weeks.

Problem solved.

why is everybody so certain that we'll beat the rams? they managed to beat the once mighty Commanders so i'm not taken them for granted even with romo healthy.

All this "it's only the Rams, dude" talk is giving me the jeebies, too. Yeah, that's the exact sort of mindset we need Romo and the Cowboys to have.
