Rowdy in trouble with Jerry
Rowdy the four-wheelin' Cowboys mascot stole the show at practice today, which was a light workout without pads. Rowdy flew up and down the sidelines with his blue machine just within a few feet of the players, including very valuable receiver Terrell Owens.
The Oxnard police are also actors apparently. They staged an arrest of Rowdy blaring the sirens of their massive all-terrain four-wheeler chasing him down and pretending to cuff him. All this drew a big laugh and some heat from owner Jerry Jones. Is Rowdy losing his wheels?
"I was about to get him myself," Jerry said. "He is on his last leg."
Jerry said when son Stephen Jones was 12 he had a four-wheeler and was a little too wild and daddy took away the keys.
"I am about to take that key away from Rowdy," Jerry said.
After practice Rowdy refused to comment on Jerry's remarks and only shook his big smiling head side-to-side. We'll keep track of RowdyGate the rest of the way in Oxnard.
Earlier in camp some of the equipment guys had to move Rowdy's four-wheeler off the field because it was sitting in the end zone when the receivers were running passing drills.
Jerry was also concerned about us reporters sitting along the sidelines when Rowdy buzzed by.
"Were y'all sitting on the fence when he ran by you?" Jerry said. "He couldn't have been two feet from you. The fool."
