NFL hits Roy Williams where it hurts
The Roy Williams' Rule has cost Roy Williams some money.
The NFL fined Williams $12,500 for his yank-down tackle of Chicago tight end Desmond Clark in the second quarter of last week's win against the Bears. Williams was flagged 15 yards for unecessary roughness on the tackle.
Williams was fined $10,000 last year for a horse-collar on New York Giants running back Tiki Barber.

Bruce's guarantee no big deal
That's the consensus opinion in the Cowboys' locker room, or that's at least what they're telling the media.
DE Chris Canty acted like he hadn't even heard that Rams WR Isaac Bruce guaranteed a win over the Cowboys. FS Ken Hamiln shrugged it off as a veteran trying to make sure his team kept its confidence up.
"I don't even care what he has to say," SS Roy Williams said. "He doesn't have anything to do with what's going on in this locker room. That doesn't inspire me."

Checking in with Brady Quinn
I haven't filed a Brady Quinn update in quite some time, so here's news that he's finding open patches of grass to work on his pass drops while the Browns' starting offense practices.
Does anybody still think Jerry made a mistake by not taking Quinn? Just wondering.

Wade will find a way to get pass rushers on field
Greg Ellis might not play this week, but he'll be back soon. Once he returns, expect to see defensive packages that put him on the field with fellow pass rushers DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer.
How will that work?
"That's Wade's job," Ellis said. "My job is to beat the man in front of me. It's Wade's job to figure out how to put us in the best situation and best position and see what we can do."
Phillips figured out a way to do it with Steve Foley, Shawne Merriman and Shaun Phillips in San Diego, and he said it doesn't necessarily require one of the OLBs to move inside. He advised me to dig up game film from the 2005 Chargers season if I wanted to see how it's done.
"Whoever our best pass rushers are, we just figure out a way to put 'em in the game and rush 'em," Phillips said. "It's not necessarily the old 4-2 or dime or nickel. It's just get 'em out there, mill around and rush."

Romo love
For those of you interested, ESPN will have a feature on Tony Romo on Sunday's "NFL Countdown," show and Fox will have a piece as well.
Terry Bradshaw interviewed Romo on Thursday for the pre-game show. It was interesting to see Bradshaw walk out of Valley Ranch with a Cowboys' baseball hat on his head. I'm sure that would have Steelers fans cringing.
