DMN Blog: Roy Williams is at the Ranch

i think the emotional frustration gets to hate and those there simply won't let go of anything that feeds the ... "emotional uncertainty" if that's more PC.

but when you dog on a player for missing optional practices 3 months before any real practices will start and don't really care MANY missed it last year - what else is it?

isn't it possible to "find God" AND spend time at the gym? those mad at roy won't let you hear the good stuff he's doing or trying to do cause they yell HE SUCKS a lot and quite passionately. they assume doing one means not doing the other and the world just isn't that extreme.

sorry - after awhile it does go from frustration to hate and things that just don't matter about anyone else are suddenly the worst thing roy can do. they expect to see roy fail, so he will in their eyes cause of the twist factor.

And why would we not dog on a guy for missing OTAs when his work ethic has been questioned repeatedly? Did he really not know that there would be OTAs around this time? C'mon.
We all know it's possible to find God AND spend time at the gym. Not my point at all.
The bottom line is he's NOT doing enough good stuff on the field to warrant his cap #. If he was, we'd all love to hear about how Jesus saved him or whatever. But since he's NOT doing all that he can do to earn his paycheck (which we all pay in some way, shape, or form), I don't care if he's found Barney the friggin' dinosaur. Not hate, just saying philanthropy and spirituality and all those wonderful things mean little to most fans if a professional athlete is not helping his team as much as he could be. Everyone would like a guy to be All-Pro AND Man of the Year, but we'd all take All-Pro over the other in a hearbeat if they were both free agents.

And the drumbeat continues in the "Summer of Roy" (technically it's still the "Spring of Roy" but you get my point). Without counting, I would estimate we have averaged 2-3 Roy Williams articles a week for the entire month of May.

You think that's something, just wait til the "fall of Roy".

Think on that.

Copycat writers. They couldn't find an original idea with a GPS and a searchlight.

as fyi, NFL Network is still running the crawl report that says "Roy Williams will not participate in OTA's"

I saw it around 9pm or so EST...I thought it said Terry Glenn wasnt going to be participating too but could be wrong on the station for that one

I guess a certain group of fans are on suicide watch now, disappointed with the news that Roy is actually there working out

I for one am glad Roy Williams is at the Ranch, but he should have been there last week as well as most defensive players under contract. In my opinion I hope he turns things around this season and becomes the electrifying and impact player he once was. After all Roy is in his 20s and should be entering his prime and not decline.

That stated the Roy Williams of the last couple of years has not lived up to the spirit of the team, the game and contract. I hope he takes this as an opportunity to re-focus, effectively prepare for the opponent and be a force again. I would absolutely love to see Roy be successful and make his ardent supporters and the rest of us proud.

Someone asked before and I didn't have the answer could it be the other Roy Williams who will not attend OTAs for Detroit?

I dont know, it clearly said "Cowboys" and "Roy Williams wont participate in OTA's"

it didnt say anything else other than that, nor did it say who at NFLN was reporting it

NFLN's ticker has had a few things wrong lately.

Maybe they got him confused with Hamlin?

I have a complex because I'm confrontational?

Maybe I need one of Roy's cookies.

Excuse me, I need to find the song Kumbaya on youtube. My complex needs simplifying.

You weren't actually one of the five.

It's not all about the Hostile every second of the day ya know!

Trust me, they will spin this as some kind of negative.

Why is showing up to work even worthy of citation? It's like giving a kid a medal for dragging himself to school. Only his absence was noteworthy.

bbgun beat you to the punch

Or a positive.
