FWIW....the lack of connection isn't limited to Williams. By most accounts I've read, it seems that Romo is having poor practices as well. All of the receivers were having a hard time today, as well as both QB's.

I don't think these reports should be used to single out Williams.

Agreed. Its on both Tony and Roy.

And of course its early and their is no reason to panic. But I think its worth talking about. Roy and Tony coudnt hookup last year and just plain dont look like they sync up at all(yes, time should fix that)..... but what if it doesnt.

The fact is: Romo lost a MAJOR weapon. The pressure is on, he must play better and do more of the little things right just to produce on offense.

Ok, I want to take this thread a little different direction.
Educate me.
Let's just say that our WR corp do have some problems the first half of the season. Are our RB's and TE's good enough to get us though the first half of the season, with a decent W-L record?

If our WR's are running around and not getting seperation and Romo is not connecting with Roy THEN the RB's and O-Line will be in trouble. No fear in the secondary, they will pin their ears back and go after Romo.

I swear I have no idea which way this looks like it may go. We are at a definite fork in the road here.

Ain't going to matter any way, Romo won't have time to make decent passes against any decent NFL defensive lines. Romo will be very very lucky to be healthy by Oct 1st. Tony will probably be on IR by the middle of Oct. We will be playing our 3rd QB by the middle of November.

Well, then, let's sign Marvin Harrison right now. Then, when he shows that he has nothing left in the tank, and has sloppy practices, we'll feel better about ourselves because he's produced Hall of Fame numbers.

like you said, Harrison has nothing left in the tank

that is one positive for our group of WRs...they do have full tanks

Haven't seen the practices but that's the rumor.

More than worrying about what color, what number or what team jersey RW wears in practice, is how they're practicing...WR and passing game still appears as big if not bigger question than it was when T.O. was released.

Yes, it is. And while I agree it's not the end of the world as we know it, there is something to it. They should be clicking better by now esp if they have been practicing together for several weeks. It's less of a negative than it is just not a positive. There is time to start clicking.

I'm also a little concerned about the numbers of injuries on the team. Definitely not Parcells time out there although he was too tough about that. Still no reason to run in circles and scream for help. Yet.

The post corner / post read is dictated by the defense's coverage. Romo saw one coverage and Williams obviously saw another. This came up several times in games with Romo and Owens (Pittsburgh Game namely).

Are you serious??? This can't be!! Owens and Romo connected on every friggin play! Are you trying to tell me in their third season together, in a game no less, they were not in sync? Blasphemy!!

After reading your post, and then your sig, I'd have to say your sig is correct.

And it's fine you feel the way you do. I, however, continue to be amazed that anyone would think our offense would become inept and unsuccessful with Terrel Owens. Seriously.

I won't go that far saying they need to shut up, but yes, it is only OTA's. And it is only June. And I don't care that Romo and Williams have been throwing. Throwing and running patterns on your own is not the same as lining up against a defense and doing it, even if it is only OTA's.

If this continues through TC, then I'll be concerned. As for now? So what?

One more thing - the media has limited access. So that means 1) they don't know through all of OTA's how many connects and non-connects there have been between Romo and Williams, and 2) are they more likely to report "Romo and Williams generally appear to be in sync" or "Romo and Williams misfired on a play, showing the two are still not in sync?" I'd say the latter.

But again, either way, it's June and OTA's and color me not concerned.

This is what comes of everyone wanting to know everything right now. Things get exagerated and weight is put on minor items to the point that people go crazy.
