I agree these OTAs mean very little

especially considering these WRs have shown so much production on game days throughout their careers....oh wait

seriously though, the OTAs dont mean much, but looking at the depth chart it seems clear that the WRs are probably not going to be a strength of the team this season. It is a thin, inexperienced, injury prone group.

yeah it should be that most of them couldn't practice due to injuries.

That is something people can be legit concerned about, for sure. But the fact that people are acting like he and Romo have no chemistry, or are having a horrible off season, based on a report of one screwed up pass is silly beyond belief.

Nice summary.

Well said.

More than worrying about what color, what number or what team jersey RW wears in practice, is how they're practicing...WR and passing game still appears as big if not bigger question than it was when T.O. was released.

This is not good news but that is why practice is conducted. We have a long time to clean up some things provided that the talent is there.

Good news is that we have a strong head coach who will lay down the law and make them practice hard during TC until they get everything down exactly right.

Now if we had a "softee" for a coach who ran "Camp Cupcake", then we would be in trouble.

:D ;)

why do you guys let the media twist you into calling him camp cupcake but then the media are idiots when they say something contrary to your opinions?

Camp Cupcake is a media creation and you guys run with it because it suits you, the other stuff is typical media BS because it doesn't.

fans are so frustrating in their hypocrisies.

While I generally agree with this, and don't have too many negative things to say about Wade, there is no excuse for not hitting until preseason. Our tackling was awful for the first four or five weeks last year...and some of the backups were awful all year.

I want to see players like Courtney Brown get used to contact. I want them to seek it out.

cause we already had one Roy Williams do it and he failed. I'm not exactly seeing or hearing anything different about this Roy Williams. in all honesty i'm scared to death that this trade will bust and set us back so far that our Window for a Superbowl will be closed by the time we can get some wrs if it does bust.

something about reminding him self and others of the wide receiver hes capable of being

Michael Jordan wore a North Carolina Tarheels jersey under his Bulls stuff.

Why make it such a big deal?

That's a commonly misquoted trivia fact, he actually wore his UNC spandex shorts under his Bulls shorts. I'm sure the NBA would have thrown a fit if you could see the Tar Heels gear under his official uniform.

That being said, I could care less what Roy wears. Whatever gets him in the zone.

I think they did hit, they just didn't hit full contact, I think that even came up in one of wade's pressers and he alluded to that just because they aren't laying each other out, doesn't mean they aren't hitting.

Also though, we had quite a few older dudes on the roster last season, and we were coming off 13-3 and it is entirely possible the coaches didn't see the need to wear them down needlessly.

This year, I bet it's a completely different attitude.

The continued media reports of Roy Williams and Romo not connecting are alarming. I can't be the only one that sees it. I'm not nitpicking or instigating... I'm just bothered by the fact that the WR we gave up so much for is still not getting it. Last year.. Sure. He came in during the season. Let's write that off. He had all off season to "get it". I thought he and Romo were spending lots of time together during the off season... Why aren't we seeing that progress? If two professionals spend that much time together during down time there is normally some level of crispness between them. I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer. I'm just a bit concerned over the continued media reports of disconnection between the two...

Feel free to do what you do Hos. I'm sure your defensive feelers will jump out of your head when you finish reading this post......
If you are going to knee-jerk, you also have to look at it from a different perspective - maybe are secondary has the ability to shut down any WR corp not just the Cowboy's. And if that's the case, then it's a good thing. :flipflop:

It would be kind to say the passing game didn't click during today's OTA workout, when Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton were the only receivers available who have played a down for the Cowboys.

"It was sloppy," Williams said. "I can't talk about everybody else. But I know the wide receivers, we were terrible today. We've got to get the young guys better prepared -- tell them to put their PlayStations down and get in their playbook. You've got to come out here and be prepared to practice."

Good point, but it wasn't only the young guys.

Williams and Tony Romo had trouble getting on the same page, too. The most glaring instance was a play on which Williams ran a post, Romo threw a corner and S Pat Watkins made an uncontested pick.

It won't be a big deal if Kevin Ogletree, Manuel Johnson and Julian Hawkins aren't prepared. They just won't make the team if that's the case.

If Williams and Romo continue to have issues after a full off-season of trying to build a rapport, the Cowboys will have some serious problems.

The post corner / post read is dictated by the defense's coverage. Romo saw one coverage and Williams obviously saw another. This came up several times in games with Romo and Owens (Pittsburgh Game namely).

Six in one... Half a dozen in the other... Call it knee jerking, premature ejac, whatever rolls off of the tongue. At the end of the day, I still remain skeptical until I hear reports that the two are clicking well on a more frequent basis. Let's hope that comes in TC...

Our defense is not going to win anything without that high powered offense putting points on the board.

How else do YOU expect me to live my life ? Yea, it's easy for the likes of you who have normal, ok: semi-normal, healthy, productive lives to just get on a pedastal and tell the rest of us to join you. Very easy.

However, those of us who have nothing better to do than wait ( and hope ) for the next mistake, criticism, or bad day in order to say: " I told you so ", would rather be content in the warm, confortable world we live in where we are Gods of everything that's reasonable which, of course, means everything that agree with us, even if the normal world doesn't.

get it ?

Well, then, let's sign Marvin Harrison right now. Then, when he shows that he has nothing left in the tank, and has sloppy practices, we'll feel better about ourselves because he's produced Hall of Fame numbers.
