DMN Blog: Should Jerry give Matt Millen a call?

I tell you though, I would love to have Johnson on the roster. If we could make it to the SB w/ him this year, it would almost be like our #22 plus a low 2nd next year. I'd almost be tempted myself if I were Jerry.

Besides if you are constantly drafting for depth, aren't you just accummulating players, training them, and then letting some other team enjoy the fruits of your labor when they leave after 3 years as FAs?...

Dear Dallas Morning News,

Don't you have someone better than Tim McMahon to blog about the Cowboys? Ed McMahon would know more about football and the team than he does.

Thanks.

I was thinking of sending this guy an enema.

However I am not sure if he would be smart enough to pull his head out of his butt before drowning...I don't want the man to drown.:laugh2:

Worst part of that whole post he made was the idea that he had the nerve to call someone else a moron.

Hey, I was able to trade 97 rating T.O. and our first for Kevin Jones, Mike Farrell and their first.

Get'r done, Jerry!

BTW, is "blog" a slang term for "taking a dump"?

After reading some of these DMN blogs that seems to be the case.

Now why would you do that. TO finished with over 60 TDs in my last season. :D :p:

I trade him to Tampa for their 1st each time I start a new season. :D

I know, let's trade our first, Tony Romo and Julius Jones for Moss and the # 1 overall. We can then take Russell or Quinn and be set for a decade, or until Moss dies of old age or T.O. kills him.

Jerry needs your help. What would you give up to move up to No. 2? And who would you take if the Cowboys got that pick?

1. I'd give up JuJo, our 1st this year, a 3rd this year, and a 1st next year.

2. The ONLY player worth trading all that for is Calvin Johnson.

The Lions reportedly are shopping the second overall pick in the draft. They want to move down and pick up several picks in the process.

Should Jerry call Lions GM Matt Millen to feel him out? Millen has a rep for being a moron, so slick Jerry might be able to swindle a good deal.

Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson, a 6-5, 239-pound physical freak who ran a 4.35 40, is considered the draft's top prospect by many experts. But he's expected to be available with the second pick, since the Raiders will probably take LSU QB JaMarcus Russell.

Or the Cowboys could take Oklahoma RB Adrian Peterson, then actively shop Julius Jones to get back a couple of draft picks. I know I said the Cowboys were smart to keep Julius, but this could be a chance to get a special back without giving up too much.

you scared me, I thought you were going to suggest Jones gets a GM and looks to Millen to come over.

Johnson is good but not that good. No player is worth 2 #1's.

I didnt' say I wanted us to trade up for him. I said he's the only one worth trading up for. And if you looked at what I'd give up, it's not much (for that pick) so it would take a complete moron (someone actually dumber then Matt Millen) to make that trade (aka it's never gonna happen even if I wanted it to).

Interesting thoughts but on draft day I expect Atlanta to make a trade with Oakland for Moss and give up Schaub then Oakland will take Johnson. That just is the Al Davis way.

I also think that Detroit will take a trade with the Texans exchanging 1st round slots and also get the Texans #2 pick and David Carr. The Texans will take Russell at QB. LSU guy will give a great draw in Houston. And then bet the ownership of the Browns force the GM to take Quinn.

It will turn the draft on its ear.

Not really... That move would actually make sense.

Trade Julius Jones, this year 1st round, next year second, this year fifth and next year third round.
I would like for this to happen, for we could get Calvin Johnson and still have Terrell Owens and Terry Glenn.

2nd Round should be Chris Henry

3rd Round should be Quentin Moses

4th Should be Aaron Rouse

4th Round Solai NT UTAH

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO...........

For what it would take to move from #22 to #2 is to much to give up, even for Calvin Johnson. You are talking at least 2 first rounders or trading starters.

This would be dumb, very dumb.

Stick at #22 and just draft BPA, nothing wrong with that at all. To many people love to do "madden trades", worst feature in that game. I build exclusively through the draft and make almost no trades at all. If I do make a trade, it is usually to move up in the draft, and I dont take the 3s and 4s the computer will just give you either.

:)
