Greg Ellis is going to cost the Cowboys $6.25 million dollars to keep this year.
Ellis just lost his leverage if Spencer isn't facing a suspension, and I strongly expect his days in Dallas are nearly done. That cap number alone, should be the end of him.
Cut the overrated, declining player and clear the way for Anthony Spencer. Good teams don't block young talent. Spencer had some bad luck last year. The Broncos are known for cutting players, and they never said how Spencer was hurt in that game. Keeping him on special teams after a knee scope is on the organization. Taking him off the field on third down is on Phillips.
Greg Ellis isn't worth half that amount, especially for a team that has averaged 10 wins since 2005, with a mode win of 9. Keeping him would be malpractice as a GM. He had three sacks during the first 10 games and picked on the Giants' backup RT. That isn't counting his diva personality.
I would rather draft Casper the Ghost and play with him, than and have this selfish, crybaby on my football team.
