DMN Blog: Stephen McGee progress report

I don't think McGee is the heir apparent. I think realistically, he will be a good back-up by the time Kinta is Brad Johnson like.

Tough to find 1 good QB. We found a diamond in the rough in Tony Romo. Maybe we can do it again.

Just let him learn and in a few years, maybe he'll get us something in return or will replace Romo when his skill starts to diminish.

I've seen him play a ton and never once did I know that he was a better passer than a runner.

A&M completely mis-used him. Just like they did with MartyB.

That does not surprise me in the least. It will probably take 4 years to undo the poor coaching he got from A&M.

So let me get this straight. He's been sucking all camp by checking down and holding on to the ball. And now He throws a 15 yard pass and a30 yard pass with some ZIP and He's showing that POTENTIAL? I'm sorry but if you cant throw a 15-30 yard pass then You're a bumb. THis guy IMO will be gone sooner then later. I dont see this potential. Hopefully I'm Wrong.

I like the fact that he isn't forcing anything, stay away from bad habits, keep checking down, keep holding on to the ball instead of forcing it. Down the road if he ever amounts to anything that patience will help him.
I didn't realize he was Brad Johnson's son.

I think it's really hard to determine much with any of the Rookies right now and that one should reserve judgement atleast untill we have actually seen them play, later tonight!

I'm not saying He doesnt have a chance. But I seen Him in college and I just dont see that HYPE. Even more idiotic is some guy raving about this potential and backing it up with a 15 and 30 yard pass. And lets not forget He had ZIP on those bombs.

Blah show me the money in pre-season I'm all for being wrong about Cowboys Players.

All you've admitted to here is that you have never seen him throw a pass in a pro type offense.

My opinion is based on what We have seen on him so far. You would know that's why people are drafted ahead of others right? They are drafted on potential. Obviously it's just a opinion and nobody knows how He will turn out. Look at Brady and Drew Henson for example.

Brad Johnson has a Ring and played well during their run to the Championship.
