He's overreacting ALOT!!! HH is one of, if not, the best OL coach in the league. He will have him ready. Our coaching staff isn't stupid, they know what they're doing. OG is one of the easiest position to help out if need be. Proctor will be just fine....

i was exaggerating on the "little bit" :p:

and yes, Houck is the ****** man

Shaun Rogers will be unstoppable in the first quarter. He'll be pretty good in the 2nd quarter. By the 3rd quarter he'll start getting winded. By the 4th quarter he'll decide this is too hard and he'll just quit.

At least that's what he's done in every game I've ever watched him play. Even when he's not soft around the midsection, he's still soft in the head.

Gurode is a BIG STRONG fella, he can handle Rogers and can help Proctor if need be... Unstoppable, isn't what I would ever call fatboy. A few sweeps and he's dead tired...

I'm a little concerned because Proctor has shown that he can get bull rushed back fairly regularly. He seems to not get low down enough in his stance and/or just doesn't have the low ballast and strength to stand up his guy. I don't see a bunch of guys going around him, it's just that they often go through him or shove him into QB and throwing lanes.

It won't be for long as I suspect the Denver fellow they trade for will be in there pretty soon once he picks up play book.

I'm a bit surprised after hearing that Berger was most improved player in camp (at least early - he was singed out for some good and bad plays against Minni) and Big Red McQ was in there for 3 quarters at guard in last preseason game. Bit strange.

Don't listen to what the coaches say. Look at what they do. They moved Marten to guard after determining that he can't play tackle. Then, they moved him back to tackle when the LG spot opened up. Marten should be cut when Keith Davis resigns. With two WRs out, Ball and Oglesby can be the gunners. Plus, they are better players than Marten.

When they played McQuistan at LG against the Vikings, it was an audition for him to take the job. Berger was the second choice, and he played RG. How do I interpret this?

Proctor has won the chance by default. This says something about Berger, too, imo. If he can't beat out Proctor for playing time, he needs to go next year. Evidently, they are not confident in McQuistan to do the job. This was his opportunity to play for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. He probably will not get another chance to start on this team unless our RT goes down.

The coaches wanted to move McQuistan to guard when Phillips took over. What does that say about their opinion of McQuistan's ability to play tackle? Marten was drafted to replace him at RT. Then, the starting tackles were not ready to practice before the 2007 season, so they moved McQuistan back to tackle. Therefore, he doesn't get the opportunity to develop at guard after getting moved back to tackle.

Now, he plays most of camp and most of the preseason at RT, and Marten is moved inside, because he looks lost at RT. Now, you don't have McQuistan trained at guard when you could use him, and Holland isn't ready.

In my opinion, Marten's very pathetic play at RT caused McQuistan to be moved back outside. Wade can say that "he thinks McQuistan is a good prospect at tackle". However, during his first draft he or the organization tried to replace him with Marten and move him to guard.

The bottom line is this. This could have been avoided if Marten wasn't such a big bust. His poor play affected McQuistan's development at guard, the position the organization wanted to play him at.

or that pat is even worse than Proctor and the guy we got from Denver isn't ready yet. Our o-line couldn't block for ish when he replaced Gurode last season.

i personally don't like any of the backup o-lineman either, but i'd value Garett's and Houck's opinion over my own and any other cowboys fan

Wade is a little suspect to me after his decision to play Hurd and Deon in the final preseason game.. that was beyond stupid

It's going to be trouble if he's the starter. We might as well roll out a red carpet and say heres a path to Tony Romo

So you don't think this is a great idea?

I think we got the message.

McQ had very little time to get ready at guard. So I guess its not surprising that someone who has played there and nowhere else would look better.
Frankly they should have been looking at interior backups a LOT harder then they were.

I'm not surprised at all. McRed doesn't have a nasty enough bone in his body to be a an OL in this league and sure hell isn't going to even hold his ground against Shaun Rogers. Most of our back ups aren't good enough to hold up for a game and probably never will be able too. 3 yrs is more than enough time, ship him. One common thing I am finding in the OL we draft or even pick up off of waivers is that they do not have that nasty streak in them. We need to look for big bodies that have a nasty streak in them, like a Colomb o or Bigg. Just bad earth movers. McRed is a push over, Marten a push over, Free has some guts and I hear Holland has a nasty streak too. Proctor serviceable, Berger will never progress beyond what he is at right now. We need some guys with a chip on their shoulder, cause with out that, it doesn't matter how big and athletic they are, they becomepush over's to nasty DL like Shaun Rogers. Even Flo is a quiet guy off the field but on it he's a grinder. Heck practice with the broncos he's throwing hooks and ripping helmets. No one's gonna push his line around o his shift. McRed, pushover - - - just just ship him out.

sounds like you need to try out, no?:D
