I didnt see the game.

Who was the pass intended for?

If it was to Roy who can "go get it", I'm not sure I'm too unhappy with the decision. It means he's showing confience in Roy to go get it and giving him a chance to make a play.

Now, it was still double coverage, so thats not good, and if it was to anyone but Williams, thats not good.

Williams didn't play, so you've already set up an impossible scenario.

It was to Ogletree, who had beaten his man. There was a deep safety in the middle of the field. If Romo doesn't get hit while he's throwing, he can get the ball deep enough, and to the sideline, away from the safety. he got hit as he was throwing, and the ball floated to the center of the field, where the FS got an easy pick.

The ball is in the top left, and the CB had perfect position on Ogletree. While Oglree had a good bit of room to the outside where Romo could have placed the ball, I'd say Romo should check down there every time.

if Romo puts it on the outside shoulder

no way the CB can get to it w/o going over him, or through him

Without seeing the rest of the field, can you say he had an available checkdown? I only saw the play once or twice. I remember we kept in alot to block. Not sure where else he could have gone.

he had Witten running in front of a defender underneath

it looked like he was far enough for it to be a 1st down if the ball was thrown to him

If that's true, we should run that play every other play, since the defender has the best possible coverage, and Romo would still be able to get the TD by putting it to the outside.

Like I said, there's some cushion to the outside, but you need a perfect throw and perfect catch. Anything else is a jump ball for an incompletion or INT.

Pretty sure he had the usual Witten covered one on one with a LB underneath. I forget.

all Romo needed on that throw was some touch, so that it would drop right on 'tree's right, outside shoulder

it's a throw every NFL QB worth his salt should be able to make

unfortunately he wasn't able to get touch because he was hit as he threw, but still, if he had a clean throw, he had a chance to throw a TD

Good to see he's finally realizing those dumb turnovers cost them playoff games....

:confused::confused::confused:

It's the preseason, and I cant ever think of Romo making throws like that in the playoffs.

His only postseason interception was the 4th down prayer against NY.

Romo gets alot of blame for the playoff losses (undeservedly so IMO) but he has actually played well in both games except for the bobbled hold, and then the sack/INT Grounding call against NY

Count me amongst those that think the expectations and blame that surround Romo are more exaggerated than accurate.

I know that even he has said he's changed this offseason but I suspect some of that change is understanding he needs to say and do certain things to change perceptions & keep the unfair criticism at a more manageable level.

I was giddy in 2006 when he came out of the shadows to rescue this team and I am no less giddy about having the guy today.

Of course he's not perfect. But the guy has always been about recognizing his shortcomings and working to get better. That didn't start this offseason.

"You have to make a better decision under distress at that moment," Romo said. "When something breaks down on a play that's long developed on the field, you have to make sure you minimize the mistake and I enhanced it. So we will look at it and improve upon it. But I'm upset with myself for making that decision."

I have been one of the most harshest critics of Romo this off season. Several areas of his game - mostly mental - have been the focus of my questioning him.

This is one of the biggest areas of concern for me. His penchant to just lob one up when he is pressured.

The article states he now says the right thing. For Romo, his words usually mimic his deeds.

With Tony's comments on being a better leader, and then following it with this remark about recognizing his gaff as a hope and a prayer throw, I am coming around on him.

I have stated many times it's not that I dislike him, but like Miles Austin I am taking a show-me posture on Romo taking it to the next and final level.

In my mind I think he is starting to get the whole picture here in regard to being a quarterback, a leader and the face of the Dallas Cowboys.

My homer meter is now red lining.

Now is Miles would be what people suggest he can, this season has an unlimited potential if they stay healthy.
