It does, but more than not that big play the past 3 years has been to TO.

Sure a nice throw down the seam to Crayton or Witten is nice and his mobility can buy him more him more time, but what remains to be seen is if that 2009 pocket improvisation will lead to improved ball security.
That's all spin doctoring. You keep it up and you'll get dizzy and throw up. That's the problem with selective criticism, you leave yourself wide open to exposing a lack of thought into the actual intricacies of the game.

The conversation is being redirected from misfired passes to 'improved ball security'. Nice.

You are still upset that we passed on your creepy QB crush object because we already had a real QB in place.

You were also a Owens fan ...... so that put a fresh coat of sore on your tender hole.

You constantly bad mouth and point out any negative play that Tony makes while ignoring your heroes inadequacies and the fact that Romo Wins twice as many games as he losses.

1) I did think Brady would have been a good pick at that position in the draft. It remains to be seen if to was a good pick or if we missed,

2) I am a fan of talent. So yes I am an Owens fan. Just like I am Randy Moss fan. I knew he wasnt done in Oakland even if T-New ran him down. I would have liked him for a 4th like the Pats got for him.

3) I don't consider me badmouthing Tony. I just have the "What have you done for me lately" mentality. To me, Tony is a good NFL QB but doesnt have what it takes to get to the next level. He has an average arm, plays reckless like he is playing backyard football, and isnt a born leader. You need a strong personalitry at QB and he has one of poor mans Brett Favre without the bling and arm.

Sure he is better than ANYTHING we have had around here , but the Homers put him on a pedestal for which he isn't worthy of. I WANT TO BELIEVE but I cant until he doent FLAME out in December. To me he is no more than a more mobile Marc Bulger.

I know I AM NOT the only one who thinks like this on this board but others quickly jump in and defend him like he actually has some credibility in the league.

There were times last year when Romo couldnt hit TO in stride to save his life.

Unlike Trent Edwards.
I can think of 3 slants off the top of my head to Owens last year that were picks cause he threw them behind Owens

Yeah Romo is 63.6% as a starting QB I don't think he has that hard of a time hitting his WR in stride.
that stat is meaningless when it comes to Romo throwing slants to a #1 wr. he throws them fine to a slower guy like crayton but struggles with big faster guys like Owens and Williams for whatever reason. he just needs to work on them more.

I disagree he has hit Owens on them plenty of times and I will say there were times Owens dropped them and times Owens did not run through the play due to a defender coming at him and would try to short arm the catch. I agree he needs to continue to work but all in all the only issue I have with Romo is his fumbles. If he can do a better job of protecting the ball when the pass rush is getting after him. Romo is a highly accurate passer those are not meaningless stats.

Roy is fast- just not quick - which is pretty rare in a tall guy anyway. His long stride does eat up the ground and there are very few DBs in the league that can catch him in full flight. So on a long pass it is very possible that Romo is having trouble gaging his speed and getting it on target.

Ah yes. The old "We didn't draft Randy Moss and ended up with Greg Ellis blah blah blah" argument.

Brady Quinn DROPPED 22 slots before Cleveland took him off the board. Dallas isn't the only franchise which "missed" on him, but keep claiming that as if it really matters.

I agree. Roy does not display quickness but does have speed. It sound like an oxymoron but there is a difference of quickness and speed. Some of the all time great WR were not fast but used quickness in and out of breaks to gain separation. I have little doubt that Romo and RW will develop chemistry with each other

Has Tony ever thrown slants worth a damn? They're always off target. May have to do with his size (6'2") than anything.

Guess who does throw slants with uncanny accuracy?

Brady Quinn.
