That isn't a slam in any way at all...but it's also not funny in any way at all. IMO.

I cannot remember the last time Leno made me laugh and I stopped watching him a couple of years ago. His humor is just not my humor.
it's not humor in the make-you-laugh sense

off topic slightly but regarding the reason for the artificial turf why not just grow it outside? i know theres a couple of soccer stadiums in asia and i'm sure at least one in germany where they grow they grass outside the stadium. the pich is then wheeled into the stadium on game days under the stand meaning you have a natural playing surface and obviously avoid the difficulties involved with stands blocking sunlight.

Regardless of any logistics, it's Jerry, so i'd say it's money.

Not only is it not funny, it's not even offensive. I'd hardly call this taking a crack at anyone.

1.I find Jay Leno funny. Sue me.
2.That's not a shot at all. And not funny. But definitely not a shot.

I have never understood why the nickname grass causes so many people to think grass you play on and grass that idiots smoke are synonymous. Maybe that's just me though. No matter how many variations of that same old joke people come up with it still doesn't register as funny to me. It would be the same as asking how many roses to put in a bread recipe that calls for flour.

I was very much looking forward to the Cowboys new playing surface being grass as Jerry I believe intimated it would be in the early going. Probably my strongest dislike for Texas Stadium was the playing surface. I just prefer the real thing.

But I have a feeling that Jerry was so impressed with the new surface he had layed for the last few years at Texas Stadium that grass became less of a priority in the new one. Would have been a really nice touch IMO.

Oh well.

Earlier in the season, Jay Leno had Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones on his show for a quick Q-and-A from the stadium as the Cowboys were getting ready for their first game at Cowboys Stadium.

For some reason on Thursday, Leno chose to take a little dig at the stadium and Jones in his monologue.

"Here's something I don't understand. If you watched the game the other night, you know the Dallas Cowboys' new "billion-dollar stadium" has artificial turf on the field. It's not real grass. Their owner Jerry Jones said "It's hard to grow real grass inside a domed stadium." Really? How come college kids all across the country grow pot in a metal file cabinet? They can grow grass. Why can't you grow grass?"

Ah, now I know why Conan O'Brien is out at NBC. This stuff is gold, pure gold. Yeesh.

Yup Leno is a turd. If he wasn't so bad Conan wouldn't be getting the shaft. I've never liked Leno. Letterman is so much better then he ever was and then trying to give him an hour long prime spot. LOL at those idiots.

Maybe Jerry doesn't want the players smoking the grass, like in the 90s.:D

I guess that's true. In that case Jerry better keep an eye on the yardline stripes.

Do people really watch Leno?

I was not offended by the joke or felt he was taking some cheap shot he was just trying to be something he isn't which is funny.

If Leno's not funny Letterman is unbareable, no talent.

I agree Letterman is not funny. I really do not get why people tune in and watch these guys. Outside of a late night host these guys have no talent. They are not actors or singers or have any known talent except to read lame jokes written by other people.

Jerry doesn't need to grow any grass when he's got Nate Newton to import it for him.
