Roy Williams said Thursday he will play Sunday against the Falcons, but coach Wade Phillips is not so sure.

Williams' bruised ribs are still giving him some trouble even though he has practiced every day this week, and Phillips does not want to get caught in a situation where Williams lasts only a few plays Sunday and cannot continue.

Williams will practice today, which will go a long way to determining his availability Sunday. Even if Williams plays, there is a chance rookie Kevin Ogletree could be active for a second straight weeks. Just guessing, but I would expect Williams to be listed as questionable for the game.

"You can tell he's in pain sometimes during practice, catching the ball, those kinds of things," Phillips said. "I think it's lessened as the week has gone along, but we'll see where he is today."

Or a broken jaw/nose.

But, hold it now. Roy is all about stats. And How "frustrated" he is. blah blah blah.

HE WINS!!!:laugh1:

Sit the guy, make sure his temparture is a perfect 98.6 degrees. Every single bone is in perfect shape, and that every muscle, tissue, cartilidge is FAR from hurting. All perfect.

Then, he can go out , disappear in the game and make up more stupid gimmick sayings.;)

Seriously though,
If the guy can't go. Don't play him. I am not gonna hold this one against #11.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I don't understand why Phillips would not want to be put in the position where he plays only a little and couldn't continue.

Isn't the gameplan in place already and don't injuries happen every single game?

Make a decision, Mister Phillips. You are the head coach. Wait, no you aren't.

not really suprising. Roy has only played a full 16 games once in his career. I hope something happens to actually make this trade look good one day....

the only thing Wade Phillips is sure about is that he likes to dump a truckoad of buttermilk on his taters and his burgers.

one thing for sure about BP- right or wrong he made the decision fast and stuck to it. No waffles or other kinds of soft food there.

Wade's playing possum. They were talking about this on GAC yesterday, and some reporter (MacMahon? No, I think it was Mosley) said everyone out there has told him Roy is fine, had full participation in practice, and is ready to go.

I've never understood why anyone would want to do that. ATL is gonna prepare for him like he will play and if he doesn't they are in much better shape.

Its not like they are gonna go balls to the wall in trying to scheme against Hurd and Crayton only to be shocked at the last minute when Roy steps out there.

Just doesn't make any sense to be sneaky with injuries or roster moves.

This. Like he does every press conference. Some people haven't figured it out yet.

I doubt its intentional. Odds are Jerry hasn't given him this week's roster yet.

yet another thing Wade has got backwards if he is, He should be doing this with Felix, someone teams have to gameplan for, does anyone actually gameplan for Roy anymore?

Impossible, Wade is not capable of gamesmanship.

I don't doubt that it's tough for him, of all the bones I've broken ribs were one of the worst both pain-wise and for recovery time.
