DMN Blog: Wade Phillips not sure if Roy Williams will play Sunday

So basically practice time has been wasted on Roy.

After last season, i doubt any of these players are coming back at 100% and will reinjure themselves again and be out even longer.

I'm not sure if it matters either way.

oh it does!! especially if hes close too 100 percent!

we have him and Miles Starting....two big 6-3 WR's..both can jump and catch....1 is faster than the other and can stretch a D, and the other can catch balls in traffic, and be our possession guy

and then we have the Sneaky Witten and Felix...dangerous O!

Roy Williams said Thursday he will play Sunday against the Falcons, but coach Wade Phillips is not so sure.

Williams' bruised ribs are still giving him some trouble even though he has practiced every day this week, and Phillips does not want to get caught in a situation where Williams lasts only a few plays Sunday and cannot continue.

Williams will practice today, which will go a long way to determining his availability Sunday. Even if Williams plays, there is a chance rookie Kevin Ogletree could be active for a second straight weeks. Just guessing, but I would expect Williams to be listed as questionable for the game.

"You can tell he's in pain sometimes during practice, catching the ball, those kinds of things," Phillips said. "I think it's lessened as the week has gone along, but we'll see where he is today."

I am actually grateful for RW ribs.

Take as long as you want, Roy, to git them ribs fully healed. Hail, I don't care iffin it takes a hole year to git them healed. Stay classy and stay rehabbing, Roy, we'll give you a call iffin we need you. But don't call us, we'll call you, you pouty, china doll, wannbe.

John Clayton is already running around saying Roy will likely be inactive Sunday.

So it's pretty much set in stone that Roy is going to start.

not really suprising. Roy has only played a full 16 games once in his career. I hope something happens to actually make this trade look good one day....

I don't understand why Phillips would not want to be put in the position where he plays only a little and couldn't continue.

Isn't the gameplan in place already and don't injuries happen every single game?

Make a decision, Mister Phillips. You are the head coach. Wait, no you aren't.
