And what has changed? Wade is still the HC and that's a good thing because JG gets another year to mature and learn. And if the offense fails then JG gets most of the blame even though it rests clearly on JJ, Wade, JG and the players equally.

Nothing new here altho I agree there are less lambs about. But not to worry. The media can make some more.

And while I'm excited about the defense the success of the team is much more on the offense of this team which has failed us for over a decade speaking in generalities here.

So let me see if I got this...

Wade said some HC's run the offenses... so... he is going to be a HC that runs the defense

AND

Garrett the AHC his going to be the psuedo HC

Got it!

Brilliant!
Actually, what he said is that it's tougher for him to run the defense than it is for offensive minded head coaches to run their offense, because he (Wade) also has to make certain calls on the offense. In other words, he's in control of both sides of the ball, but has Garrett assisting him in the daily activities on offense.

Well, he did go crying to the media after Tony criticized him publicly.

This is why I don't think it's a big deal for Phillips to be his own DC. He doesn't really have a hand in the offensive preparation because that's not his area of expertise, so the only real difference for him will be staying more focused on the defense during games. Since his decisions concerning the offense during games mostly consists of deciding whether to go for it on fourth downs, I don't think this will take much away from his contributions.
Well, some people argue that when Wade paid more attention to defense, he couldn't give time to the offense, which is why the offense suffered.

He is lucky he kept silent, hiding behind the curtains, otherwise he wouldn't have a job this year.

we dont look as strong on paper...but neither has NE when they won SB's, or the Steelers, or giants

we dont need an all=star team...just chemistry, no distractions, and great coaching......

plz garret..Dont F this up

We also need an efficient QB that doesn't turn the ball over left and right.

That alone would've made Dallas at least an 11-5 team last season, even with Brad Johnson taking over for 3 games.

THAT is a VERY GOOD POINT.

Brad was horrible. He went 1-2. OK. But he was not the reason we flubbed last year.

Also, we gave up 34 and 35 points in those losses.

It was not Garrets fault it goes back to the Head Coach and how he handles practices and the players

It was Wades fault last year period for being a soft HeadCoach and giving those guys extra days off and a camp that was way to easy

Wade Phillips: Defensive Coordinator & Head Coach
Jason Garrett: Offensive Coordinator & Assistant Head Coach
Jerry Jones: Team Owner, General Manager, & Executive Head Coach

See, it's simple. Now what if that wins us a Super Bowl?

You're right about the structure. But until FA, the draft and training camp is over I am not saying we win the SB. As we are right now, I don't believe we make the playoffs. But our offseason is only 50% complete if you ask me.

Oh, it was Garrett's fault. According to reports, Wade didn't involve himself in the defensive meetings when Brian Stewart was the DC, so what makes you think he involved himself in the offense? When Wade took over the defense, it became abundantly clear that he was running things, because the defense started to perform. Wade had very little hand in how the offense was run, so why would it be his fault for how Garrett chose to conduct practice? This is further corraborated by the fact that Wade Phillips tried to get involved this year by bringing in Dan Reeves. Like I said, one can only wonder how Garrett escapes so much responsibility for the ineptitude of the offense.

I think it had more to do with Newman coming back from injury which let us play more man to man rather then WP's doing[/quoteHow do you explain the re-introduction of the 4-6, and Bradie James garnering more sacks than he had ever sniffed his whole career?

Wade Phillips is still talking

So much for gag orders.

Before Wade Phillips talked with Todd Archer yesterday, he also spoke with "Movin' The Chains" on SIRIUS NFL Radio.

Some highlights:

Here's Wade Phillips on losing Terrell Owens: "Well, it's a big hole to fill certainly. I mean, the guy, I think he's led the league the last two years in touchdowns and he had 10 touchdowns this last year and over 1,000 yards. So that's going to be the big point, is to be able to fill that gap."

Phillips said the team is high on Miles Austin and said Patrick Crayton is solid. He also expects good things from Roy Williams.

"Of course, Roy Williams coming in we feel like is a top receiver, too," Phillips said.

Phillips had high praise for newly signed defensive end Igor Olshansky, calling him the strongest player in the league.

"His background I think is documented but, I mean, coming over from Russia and not playing football until [later in life], so he's only played football a few years really," Phillips said. "Most of the players have played most of their life and he hasn't so I think he's still developing, too, and I think he'll be a good addition for us."

The other highlight was Phillips' thoughts on newly signed safety Gerald Sensabaugh. Phillips said Sensabaugh brings a different element to the secondary: A safety who can cover tight ends, running backs and wide receivers. Phillips didn't name Roy Williams, but it was another reason why the Cowboys cut ties with him.
