I don't know what Jerry will do as Jerry doesn't either. Draft day is too fluid and dynamic. But I'm not opposed to drafting that many although there is no way for all making the team. If you draft wisely then there is a greater possibility of finding a gem in numbers. You also have to take into account your PS guys and others you are targeting. You can only bring so many to camp. The days of 100s are gone.

There is absolutely no way that we end up with all 11 picks. Jerry will consolidate a few to move up and/or sell at least one to get more next year. Drafts that reflect all 11 picks are doomed.

If we finish with more than eight of those eleven choices, I will be amazed.

Jerry Jones fashions himself as a mover and a shaker on draft day. The day he takes a conservative approach and keeps his choices will probably never happen. He cannot resist the temptation to attract attention to himself.

There are times he has made trades only to turn right around and panic because he miscalculated. He is like a little blue haired lady who loves to find bargains to the point that she spends more in the act of obtaining them just for the satisfaction of it.

Jerry as of late has been one of the top 5 draft managers. Stop pretending we just drafted Kavika Pittman. Jerry fleeced the Lions and Browns last year and we still got Tashard Choice out of it.

Well, I for one hope he draws more attention to himself this year, because he played those trades beautifully last year. Taking advantage of Detroit and Cleveland's desperation got us some great picks this year.

I'll bash Jerry for plenty of things, but his draft trades the last few years won't be one of them.

said it before and I will say it again. To bring FISCAL responsibilty to the OL...Davis is going to have to move to LT. And he can and will play it well enough for us to reach our goals. You cannot pay a guard 50m. You just can't do it in the salary cap era. It is much easier to find a G than it is to find a LT. .

I know LT is important, but if you think about it, the shortest distance to a QB is where ? A: through the middle.

Cowboys fans have been spoiled by exceptional guard play. From Ralph Neely and Tom Niland in the early 70's, to Herbert Scott and Tom Rafferty in the late 70's, and early 80's, to Nate Newton, Kevin Gogan, and Larry Allen in the 90's, we've always had people who can take care of the middle. If you don't think that's too important, take a look at what happened this past season when Kozier, who's not exactly one of the best ever, but a solid player, went down.

Cowboys shouldn't move Davis to LT. He does not play up to his potential in space. However, if you leave him at guard, he could become one of the great ones, like Larry. Maybe not as good as Larry, but within the same neighborhood. Don't fix something that's not broken.

This draft is very, very, VERY loaded with tackles. The Cowboys could get one in the 2nd or 3rd round and just develop him. It's a tall order for a team who hasn't developed an offensive tackle since 1998, but they have to keep on trying.

I would think Jerry and Co. almost have to package and move around in the draft. 11 draft picks, not including any potential FAs would be hard-pressed to make this team next year.

I would I'd say they'd draft around 6-8 picks, with them probably going with the low side.

If Bill Parcells wants a high-character guy like Chris Canty, who also has some good talent to him, then it should be a priority of Jerry Jones to sign him; which unfortunately, is why I fully expect Jones to let Canty go and getting nothing in return. :(

If Canty is willing to sign a contract that's similar to Jay Ratliff, who's 2 times better than Canty is, then fine, bring him on.

If he wants more, he's more than welcome to move down here with Tuna.

trade them all for a wr ....

right?

That's what I was thinking....not too seriously though....do what it takes to get Crabtree, use the leftover picks for depth.

They need to draft OL. Where I don't know but it appears G, G/C, and T are all necessary.

I'd say that is most likely although it wouldn't hurt my feelings for them to draft more hoping to hit.

Other than his poor effort -- or lack thereof -- on that one run, Jenkins played very well. In coverage, at least.

And we'll have 11 picks, not nine, after the comp picks are awarded. The media might catch on to that eventually.

Adam,
any idea where the comp picks may fall?

Probably a fifth for Jacques Reeves and a sixth for Julius Jones. I'll have a better idea in a few weeks when I do my comp pick projections.

I normally would agree but we're bound to lose a few to injury and even the good ones can look like bust/non-contributors for the first couple years (see B. James and Gurode.) So how do they set themselves apart -- by fighting it out in camp and excelling on special teams. That would be a nice welcome present for DeCamillis I would think.

Not bad--there could be some additional value there.
