What's worth watching at OTAs?

The Cowboys begin their organized team activities tomorrow, when the media gets its weekly day of media access. (Workouts are not open to the public.)

If Tony Romo talks to the media, that will dominate the news cycle. He still hasn't publicly addressed T.O.'s departure. DeMarcus Ware also could make headlines if he discusses the negotiations on the contract that will probably give him the most guaranteed money in NFL history.

As far as the action on the field goes, you can only tell so much from no-contact workouts. The passing game work tends to be the best action in these types of workouts, and there are plenty of storylines to follow there.

Three of the best position competitions feature guys we'll get to see in 7-on-7 drills: Patrick Crayton/Miles Austin at No. 2 WR, Mike Jenkins/Orlando Scandrick at CB and Gerald Sensabaugh/Michael Hamlin at SS. This will also be our first glimpse at the supposedly new and improved WR Roy Williams.

If?

Should say when.

Part of playing the role of the quarterback of America's Team is addressing the media, even when you'd rather not.

That's what team leaders do too.

This is one of the aspects of Romo's game that he could use to work on.

A perfect opportunity to do that awaits...

Romo does not need to be an open book for the media to dissect. If he does not want to address a topic that is outside of this current team then why feed the animals who want to do stories that have nothing to do with this current team and players? I think we all know what the media wants to ask and no matter what Romo says it will not satisfy

Hasn't TO been addressed sufficiently at this point?

What more color can Romo shed on the situation? I know you're right, in that he is going to have to say the typical "great player, but we all have to move on" comment, but I really wish the media would also move on.

I want to hear about the current cast of players. Who been working on running routes and made improvement, stuff like that.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Great. Can't wait to hear it.

All I can say is that I just want to hear some football talk. I want to see how people like Sensabaugh, Olshansky and Brooking do.

All of this nonsense with Romo along with Williams' woe is me act and the depressing news of the practice facility collapse has been very tiresome.

Seriously, stash, Tony needs to be more accessible to the media? He's about as accessible as you can get. And the smart move was to not comment on the TO departure immediately and then to come out and throw soft platitudes when you eventually do say something--which is exactly what he's going to do.

I'm not looking for an open book.

I'm looking for him to say something, address the situation, and move on.

What I'm not interested in is him hiding or refusing to address a potentially difficult subject.

Talk about it once and move on.

Not at all.

But the guy has to talk about this subject at some point.

And then, by all means, move on.

But hiding from the subject doesn't work for me.

I hope that's exactly what he does.

And during the OTA's is the perfect opportunity.

Talk once and move on.

If it were that easy I'm sure he would have already but no matter how or what he says many in the media will continue to ask then do the follow up question then go to TO to get his reaction then back to Tony this is what the media wants and there is no rule saying Tony has to give them this lazy enquiring minds want to know BS journalism we see from so many today. If it is not about this team and these players I would just as soon Romo politely tell them if they don't want to talk football then there is nothing more to say

he doesn't have to address every subject that comes at him, the fact that he pretty much always talks to the media should be good enough for you

and it's not like Romo is going to say anything groundbreaking even if he does address the TO situation, he'll probably just wish him good luck, and might even call him a great player

There should also be an interesting competition between Holland and Koiser for the starting LG spot.

Jerry took his turn.

Wade took his.

Even Witten addressed it.

And then each moved on.

As this team's quarterback, I feel Romo needs to address it at least once.

I guess our opinions differ then.

I feel it's Romo's responsibility to address the subject once - and only once.

I guess our views differ then. I see nothing but a back and forth with the media going back to TO and TO responding and the media going back to Romo and so on. Only thing that should matter to the Cowboys and Romo is this team and last time I checked TO was not a member of it so there is nothing to say. Grown men move on not play games which is all this could become the same type of distraction we are trying to move on from. I fully expect Romo will say TO was a great player and he enjoyed the time they played together which I don't know if it is true or not but I fully expect that to be the extent of that Romo has to say

And I wouldn't expect much more that that.

I just feel as this team's quarterback and a player who should be leading that he should say something.

What he has to say to the team is much more improtant that what he has to say to a bunch of hack reporters.
