Why Romo missed a wide open Roy Williams

Tony Romo didn't miss a lot of passes Sunday afternoon.

But one he did to a wide open Roy Williams with 4:06 left hurt. The defender fell down on the play and Williams was all alone for a certain touchdown until Romo sailed it over the receiver's head.

"I let it go thinking the receiver is running with him (cornerback),'' Romo said. "As soon as it left my hand, it was disappointing because I knew it was a walk-in touchdown.''

He rushed the throw, poor mechanics, simple as that.

That's the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" play of the game to me. Who knows how things might have turned out if they connected on that play?

He had maybe 3 bad throws out of 55 attempts. We should have never been in that situation to begin with.

And why are Romo's mechanics still poor?

Does Dallas even have a QB coach? (Wade Wilson, I know, but yeah.)

Bad throw...who cares...would not have changed the game. It was our defenses turn to lose a game today and they would not be stoped. See the sig.

Correctamundo.

Sometime people act like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady never make bad throws.

Not even talking about or scrutinizing the throw if we made plays in other areas. Like tackling, preventing a Jacobs 74 yard run and a 79 yard punt return. Those are bigger areas of concern than one of the few incompletions Romo had today. That play doesn't even happen if we take care of business elsewhere.

With an assist from punt coverage and the OL.

And we took poor angles, rushed the tackling and had poor mechanics when tackling. Simple as that.

Jeeze Dave More, did we really even need a blog on this????? Here is something for you to go blog about: why did Folk miss a wide open field goal. Dallas sports writers ironically go hand in hand with Dallas Cowboys football in Decemeber, inept. At least the Cowboys have a good rest of the year though...more than can be said for most of our writers.

Agree 100%. Maybe someday we will play a complete game.

Watching the replay of that throw, Romo looked at Williams, he still had a cb in tight coverage, looked back down the middle and saw the defender had fallen down and did one of his patented quick throws out to the spot, but it wasn't an accurate throw.

He had looked to his next progression already, spotted the wide open Cowboy Jersey and did a real quick release without really looking the ball into receiver, because he had already moved in on progression.

This was a great game by Romo. Blame Barber and a few others, but not Romo this time.

Nick Folk misses twice

Nick Folk's 57-yard field goal attempt at the end of the first half was understandable. But the 42-yarder with 10:38 left in the game was a money kick he's got to make. He low line drive hooked left.

``It wasn't very good operation,'' Folk said. ``From what I could tell, it looked like the ball wasn't where it needed to be.''

Punter Mat McBriar said he pushed the ball forward on the hold.

``I sometimes lunge forward to get the ball,'' McBriar said. ``That's how I punt. I move into the ball. If I'm trying to turn the ball to move the laces, sometimes I put the ball too far out front. It was just a bad hold.''

Folk is 2 of 7 over the last four games. He has missed eight times this season.

``I'm not going to lose confidence,'' Folk said. ``That's one thing I can tell you.''
