Where is the logic of trading picks to get Hall and then letting Asomugha leave if tehy are both going to command Samuel type money.

MAkes little to no sense whatsoever.

People,

There is not going to be a big FA CB signing this off-season in Valley Ranch...

The draft is chock full of CBs in the first round and Dallas has two picks to play with...

If Dallas really wanted to, they could try packaging their two #1s to move up and get Cromartie or Talib if CBs start getting picked up early this draft. Then they could sit back and go BPA for the rest of the way, knowing there will be RBs later on. Dallas doesn't need to get greedy and go nuts with the draft, they had 13 pro-bowlers last year. It all depends on what transpires before Dallas picks.

Dallas is going to have to pay Newman next year anyway... Newman knows that he missed valuable time last year and was not 100%. We need to realize that he is going to do everything in his power to have a HELLUVA season next year so he can get that same kind of money that is being tossed around... Furthermore, he might command the next CB benchmark signing and Jerry has set that bar in the past.

I love Asomugha but I don't see us signing him. If we are going to sign a big time FA, I think it's a WR. That's really the only position, IMO, that makes a great deal of sense to sign to a large contract. We have two very good CBs under contract now, IMO. I could see us signing a couple of decent middle tier DBs that could be used on STs and or as depth but not a big time FA. It would make more sense to try and draft two talented young DBs to develope IMO. We need a guy who can play a strong 3rd CB this coming season but we should be able to get that in 1st round CB pick, maybe 2nd round. They will not play perfectly but they don't need to. They just need to play well against another teams 3rd WR. If we draft a couple of young guys and develope them, that helps the cap and it puts us into a position where we could move them into starting roles as our existing CBs age. That, to me, is the better move. JMO.

I'd like to have him but I don't see us signing him unless Jones intends to let Newman walk at the end of this year. No way are we going to pay that kind of money to two corners.
