I hope Jerry reads Sturm and Gosselin!!! If Payton becomes available, we have just one shot at him. Jerry has to make it happen no matter how much money he has to eat on his stupid Garrett contract.

"The team was not really too curious about Moore."

This shows that JG and Jones, and other coaches cant evaluate worth a crap in practice.

I do think linehan wanted to play Moore and would have way back when over weeden, if it had been up to him.
He brought moore here, and I saw him in the jets game congratulate Moore on the TD, and was smiling much
like he would if Moore were his kid.

The next 2 games will tell if Moore might have won some of the games the other qb's lost,
if so then the answer has been on bench all along.
If we were just 6-8 right now , we would be in it, and that is just 2 wins somewhere !!!!!!!!!

-------------
About Payton, I think we can dream about it, Payton has worked for Jerry before,
and jerry likes guys who are proven, and sean has won a SB, so those things matter
to Jerry.
He has the money to pay JG off or make him asst GM or something.
It would be fun if that happened, but still think maybe odds are against it.
-----------
Question: Jason Garrett has never shown he can win the coaching battle.

Glad to see someone point this out and say it publicly!
That is one clear reason to get another HC.

Well that constant admitted he made a mistake in letting Payton get away and made an even bigger mistake trying to correct the original one by making Garrett head coach.

If there is one thing we have learned over the past 20 years, it is the difficulty of building a team capable of making the playoffs year in and year out. A handful of bad decisions can short circuit a team's competitiveness. It isn't that Jerry never makes good decisions. It is that he doesn't make enough of them.

Really? He made Garrett the HC and paid a kinds ransom for it. Remind me please what proven quality JG brought to the table.

I think Payton is overrated as a head coach. Maybe it's just me.

I would pay him a fortune to come in as OC though.

Well JG was a special case where jerry was trying to create and train his own HC. JG's dad worked for cowboys, and JG
played for cowboys, and I think was friends with stephen back when he was on the team.
So you could say this has been a experiment where jones boys could make their own custom HC.

Payton may be, but he was good, but after awhile I think a HC can get in a rut and forget what they did right in the begining.
They need good assistants as well.

He would be a upgrade on JG, and would be energized to get cowboys to a SB.

Said it before, and will say it again, if we got Payton we are at least in the NFC CG next season with good health. Teams generally over achieve in there first season for new coaches, and our offense would be dynamic!

What's that worth to all of you and to Jerry?

Or, he could head to NY and set records with Eli and OBJ.........:(

I have a comment regarding Moore and it being forced. I was listening to Bill Simmons podcast the other day and Cousin Sal was on. Jimmy Kimmel, Sal and 2 other from their crew were invited into Jerrys suite. He says Jerry came down before the game and announced that they were going to see a new player at a very important position. They also got invited to go up to the private lair about the suite and it seemed the move was premade as soon as anything with Cassell happened. Just news I found interesting since Jerry already was talking before the game.

Payton sucked here just like Zimmer, according to most here. Wonder why that was? Only 1 constant in this 20 year run through the NFL desert.

You try winning with Quincy Carter, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Henson, and an aging Drew Bledsoe! Payton's the main, if not the only, reason why Romo signed with Dallas as an UDFA.
