I actually thinks this shows that at least Burnett feels that Roy wasn't bad in coverage. If he really felt he was bad, he would've likely avoided mentioning anything about Roy, instead he goes out of his way to defend him.
I don't think Burnett watches the games on TV, but the big reason why people think Roy's coverage is so bad is that the "analysts" often blame Roy for a big play when he had nothing to do with it and the camera loves to pan to Roy after a big play if he's on the field, regardless of his responsibility. The Giants playoff game was a perfect example as on the first Toomer TD the camera puzzingly pans to Roy, even though Henry was covering Toomer and Ellis and Henry missed the tackles.
Obviously I root for Roy to have a comeback year because he's a Cowboy. But I also root for him because I've never seen a player treated like this, to the point where the media seems almost giddy to point out that he screwed up in coverage (even when he didn't).
