i absolutely hate the term "Roy cheerleader".. the man is a freaking Dallas Cowboy, he wears the star, and he has given us a ton of great memories and highlights in his handful of seasons with us.. he's an outstanding human being and a class act.. whether or not you like his playing of late, every single one of us should be a "Roy cheerleader" because he's a Dallas Cowboy..

this is not for those with a low football IQ....I know I have said it numerous times in the past..but I will repeat....coaches sometimes make calls that they know will backfire if the pass rush does not get to the QB...but all low IQ fanse blame is the nearest person to the ball when a catch is made......I am not going make excuses for Roy....nor am I going to bash him....but I will say this...the pass rush seems to get a free pass when a QB makes a completion...but they are often just as guilty as the pass coverage.

BS... The pass coverage at Dallas was getting plenty, if not more of the blame during the Campo years... We spent a bunch of draft picks looking for the next Haley, from Shante Carver to Ekuban in Detroit...

I actually thinks this shows that at least Burnett feels that Roy wasn't bad in coverage. If he really felt he was bad, he would've likely avoided mentioning anything about Roy, instead he goes out of his way to defend him.

I don't think Burnett watches the games on TV, but the big reason why people think Roy's coverage is so bad is that the "analysts" often blame Roy for a big play when he had nothing to do with it and the camera loves to pan to Roy after a big play if he's on the field, regardless of his responsibility. The Giants playoff game was a perfect example as on the first Toomer TD the camera puzzingly pans to Roy, even though Henry was covering Toomer and Ellis and Henry missed the tackles.

Obviously I root for Roy to have a comeback year because he's a Cowboy. But I also root for him because I've never seen a player treated like this, to the point where the media seems almost giddy to point out that he screwed up in coverage (even when he didn't).
