Yea, he was crazy... but a ton of players were. The NFL as a business does its best to hide a lot of outrageous stuff that goes on in NFL locker rooms. But behind the scenes there's a lot of crass behavior (though obviously Haley took it to another level)

Apparently, all the reporters who have access to the players are too busy defending their opinion about them, instead of asking actual questions that we'd like to know the answer to.

On an interview with BAD radio he admited he was bipolar and out of control when he was younger. He also admited that he didn't know how to deal with the media and just wanted to be left alone to do his job. On Ware's move to get that sack was a Haley move,he set him for a speed rush but used his hands to go inside.

yup and that's a great move for Ware since he has one of the best speed rushes in the game.

I said this exact same thing almost two weeks ago.

The only move he was using was his speed rush. He finally used a nice counter move and got 2 sacks.

excuse me, but I AM A GENIUS. I've been saying that about Ware; he needs to change his technique. Too frequently he speed rushes and the OLineman can just put a bump on him and use Ware's own momentum to take him out of the play. It's why Ware's been taken care of with a lot of one-on-ones.

I still think he needs to develop a spin move or something to take advantage how his speed makes linemen push him out, so he can get them off balance and turn back inside.

Alright genius. Several others including myself noted the same thing.

If I was the coach of any team with a long list of legacy-players like the Cowboys, I would try and take advantage of that. Right now position coaches are there to be the "teachers" but why not have those coaches bring in lagacy-players every now and then to host short, hands-on tutorials?

I mean, just watching 4th and Long you can see the impact a Michael Irvin can have on a players' attitude and skill. So why not have an Irvin come in to work some with the WRs? Why not have Haley do it for the DE/OLBs? Why not have a guy like Woodson or Kevin Smith work witrh the DBs?

That would not only accomplish the task of bring in some real hands-on skil work, it would also allow current players to gain learning and perspective beyon just what position coaches can provide, and finally, it allows for a direct connection to be mae between past and current players. The last one is especially impportant, because instead of talking about Cowboys tradition with current players, this will help them link to it, so that they can better continue it.

Man,I couldn't agree more and have been wondering for years why this doesn't occur.

Seems to me these "clinics" could be both inspirational ( players seeing successful players with credibility impart their wisdom) and humbling ( players realizing they currently don't measure any where close and need to put their noses to the grind stone).

I'd love to know who's idea it was to bring in Haley. If it was Jerrys, then I have to give him kudos (which is a rarity for me). Whoever came up with this idea, can we have more please?

What we really need is Charlie Waters, Cliff Harris, Dennis Thurman and Darren Woodson to show up and teach our safeties how to play safety

I'm still waiting for the formation that puts Ware at ILB, with Butler and Spencer at OLB. I would like to see this package about 3 or 4 times a game (twice with Brooking and twice with James). Spencer and Butler rush from the outside, and Ware blitzes through one of the interior gaps. Since Ware is also solid in coverage and against the run, it would not be too risky of a formation.

Yeah where's the Haley isn't a good guy crowd? He's one of the best that ever did, I'm glad he told Ware not to rely solely on the speed rush. Ware has been pushed outside the pocket too many times by the tackle because he's so wide.

Actually that group could probably outplay our safeties today.

Ware went inside using power for his sacks against the Chiefs.

This inside move was what seperated Hailey from most everbody else back in the day. Will help Ware big time. Ware is a bigger guy than Charles was so he should be able to start piling the sacks up.

What the heck does Haley know??? Many knowledgeable posters here have exposed him for the overrated player social misfit locker room cancer that he was and that the Cowboys were stocked w/better pass rushers before he came from the 9ers. Based on his sack totals, Haley was more of a hindrance than a key cog on the 90's defense.

The stat guys know all.
