Draft day possibilities

By getting Leonard Davis done, I would think the Cowboys are out of the market for an O-linemen in the first round of next month's draft.
I'm not saying they won't take one with the No. 22 pick, but the last time they used a No. 1 on an offensive lineman was in 1981. By signing Davis, the Cowboys can take the "best player available," and not have to worry about filling a "must have."

That's how teams get in trouble (cough, cough, Jacob Rogers, cough, cough).

Just guessing, but I can see a safety, receiver, defensive end/pass rusher in the first round. Maybe even a receiver.

I honestly have no idea what position we're going to take in the first round, and even less of an idea of what position I want us to draft in the first round.

LOL....that's what he said.......Something tells me that's not what he intended to say......or maybe it was poor attempt at a joke. :)

Our first round pick is so wide open, about the only position ruled out is QB. We could go anywhere with this pick.

It will definitely be an offensive or defensive player. Mark it down boys. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I'd take whoever is available that can be a good player.

Even if it is a lineman. We are going to lose Flozel next year.

The line should be built through the draft.

I think we can rule out a first round OG with the Davis signing. If we go offensive line early, it will probably be a tackle.

I think it will be one of Jarrett, Nelson, Griffin or Bowe.

Why is QB ruled out?

If Quinn is available I'd draft him. Let him be the 3rd QB for a season and wait for teams willing to trade picks for him next year. Hell, Brett Favre was a 2nd round pick, then Green Bay traded a first for him the next season eventhough he barely played his rookie year.

If we drafted Quinn and then someone traded a high to mid first round pick for him next year it would be a good thing. Plus there's also the possibility that Romo completely tanks from here on out and we'd already have his replacement on the team. Let's not forget how Romo ended the season and what something like that can do to a player's psyche (sp?).

There are really few top CBs this year- only a couple worth a first. I think they will be gone before our pick. FS is still up in the air. Supposedly there are about 4 worth a first. Thats probably the most likely one. There are of course a bunch of WRs, but I think we wait untill next year. Not many O Linemen worth a first either. LBs, no, TE, no, RB, not many and no need or real inclination. DE/OLB tweener- depends on how wade views our guys.
DT- a NT would be a good one but reallly outside of maybe Branch who will be long gone there are none worth a first. DE- same. SO by process of elimination I say it will be a FS- or we trade down. Of course someone really good may slip (no way Quinn slips THIS far- especially since his pro day went well). Maybe one of the REALLY good WRs will slip- but I doubt it.
