I always hate to read articles/interviews where the dude responds with such superlatives...it almost always means something terrible is going to happen. Tantamount to a scary movie scene where the person leaves the room saying, "I'll be right back"...lol.

I think Tapper is going to have a huge impact next year. There is value in having a redshirt season to learn the ropes, but I can't wait to see him hit the field. This is the thing I can't get out of my head:

I still remember how fast he was at the Combine last year. It surprised me.

He kind of threw Marinelli under the bus saying his injury was due him running him to much. He called it a fatigue injury. I know he didn't mean it like that but he should have just left it as he wasn't in the best shape and the birth defect issue cropt up due to the rigors of an NFL camp and the extra work needed to get in better shape.

This offseason, I call it my offseason, I've been working so hard. During the season it was like a mini-offseason for me and Jaylon [Smith]. ... I can't wait to get on the field and see how I look now.
Tapper and Smith are going to have a big impact on the Cowboys defense for many years. Both are great additions. Can't wait to see them on the field.

He prefaced it by saying that he wasn't in the best shape when he arrived - he didn't throw anyone under the bus.

i think the complaint was he did not have much bend.
we could line up wide 9 to counteract that for obvious passing downs.
but there are obvious issues with that in other situations.

Feel like he threw himself under the bus and was just acknowledging that Marinelli is a taskmaster

The defense might be really good if Maliek Collins and Irving take it up a notch. Throw in Tapper and Jaylon Smith recovering and playing well. Hopefully, Thornton will show something. And if T. Crawford can stay healthy. Might have something.

Everyone feels great this time of year. He has some skills that are attractive. His 40 time doesn't mean much to me. Ideally you would hope he would add to the group as a guy who can give you quality snaps. That would be a good first sign.

The D-line is obviously missing that one elite player. If you had one guy, I would think everyone on the D-line would reap the benefits. Getting that guy is the issue though.
