Sign:
Hardy & McClain [most likely] & Mo [possibly]
Walker, J. Crawford, to compete / possibly depth

Let Go:
Wilber, Mincey, Hayden, McCray, Heath

Hardy? Likely not. Distractions are OK if you produce. He has flashed but isn't the dominant guy we are paying for.

McClain? Out of shape. Gone for sure.

Mo? Maybe if there is no market. Played well before injuries took over again.

The rest all have a shot at minor deals

Hardy was also a year removed from football. Give him a full offseason and practices and another year away from all of this "stuff" and I think hes back to who he was. Not to mention, he has been instrumental in Lawerence beasting the past couple weeks.

Hardy had a full off-season and 11 games back. He's just not the player he was

The Cowboys have 18 free agents ... 16 unrestricted and two restricted.

What should they Dallas do with these players? What would you do?

Here's your chance play to Cowboys GM for a day (sorry, you don't get Jerry Jones bank account).

What would you do with these defensive free agents?

Keep 'em or leave 'em: Morris Claiborne, CBKeep 'em or leave 'em: Jack Crawford, DLKeep 'em or leave 'em: Greg Hardy, DEKeep 'em or leave 'em: Nick Hayden, DTKeep 'em or leave 'em: Rolando McClain, MLBKeep 'em or leave 'em: Danny McCray, SKeep 'em or leave 'em: Jeremy Mincey, DLKeep 'em or leave 'em: Casey Walker, DTKeep 'em or leave 'em: Kyle Wilber, LBKeep 'em or leave 'em: Jeff Heath, S (restricted FA)

Yeah your right, I guess all the distractions this season had nothing to do with it. Also being on the field more then half a game helps. Your right, he sucks.

I think one of the most important decisions me make out of this class of free agents will be making a decision on Hanna. He is next year's DeMarco Murray, if we move on from Witten. If he goes somewhere where they will actually get him the damn ball he could be the next breakout player .... for someone like the Patriots. Plus he has upper tier speed for the position.

I'm bringing Hardy, McClain and possibly Claiborne back. The rest can go or sign for very cheap deals.

Hardy receives a ton of snaps. Last week 49/58. Jets 55/65. Been that way pretty much all season.

Of course you likely didn't notice because Hardy was invisible for large stretches.

The "he'll be better without the distractions" argument us ridiculous. He caused these distractions. Gee, he'll be better if he stops doing stupid stuff. That's a great argument.

Heath is a RFA, keep him. Contributes to ST and is actually playing more consistent at the S spot than Church and Wilcox.

Keep
DT1-Casey Walker-Cheaper option than Hayden and may end up as an upgrade.
DE-Greg Hardy
LB-Rolando McClain-1 yr deal

CB-Morris Claiborne-only if he's cheap

I don't see why people are always in a rush to jettison affordable role players/special teamers. Yes Mincey and Hayden only contribute in the base defense, so if you can, churn them off the roster. But Wilber, McCray and Heath are all solid special teamers on a team that had one bad special teams return all year. I'd bring back all three if they could be had for the minimum.

I was looking for what they contribute to the regular Defense. Yes, keep them for ST's if can't be replaced, but need to look to upgrade overall. For depth that can actual be counted on when needed.

I'd try and re-sign Mincey as well, especially If Hardy goes in search of the big pay day.

None of them (especially Mo) should break the bank, though.

I was thinking Mincey, but only if Hardy didn't return. But with Hardy, and then DLaw, Gregory, and if Russell emerges. Then Mincey may not be of any help. But we don't know that either. I would not complain if he is kept.
Agree, none of these players would be a big bank breaker type player.
