Whenever Jack Crawford comes into the rotation he makes plays. He's the most obvious keeper for me and might deserve an increased role next season.

Impossible to answer without cost/contract size attached.

I have largely disliked Heath but I'd bring him back at the right cost.
I really love Hardy's talent but I am not paying him what Carolina did before us.

All of those names warrant minimum salary offers at least for camp. Even the total spares.

BTW, Mo is 2nd best player on that list by a country mile. He has by far the most upside.
The question with him is which team offers him 50m+ and a fresh start:(
He may actually end up with the biggest deal of the group if teams are still scared of Hardy.

Mincey did zero this season and looks to be behind 5-6 other DE on this roster. He might be the easiest guy to pass on.

Hardy was also a year removed from football. Give him a full offseason and practices and another year away from all of this "stuff" and I think hes back to who he was. Not to mention, he has been instrumental in Lawerence beasting the past couple weeks.

Here we go. The ol', "he does stuff that doesn't show up on the stat sheets", fallback.

I think this is vastly overstated, and even if it were true it doesn't justify what the guy will cost because his cost is based on the assumption he's going to do all those wonderful hidden things AND get a dozen sacks.

If he's not getting the sacks and all he does is set other players up to make plays then he's a role player, and you don't pay role players top dollar.

Which team will offer $50M for a guy who misses 6 games per season and who's rarely shown the ability to be starting player in the NFL?

Ummm, nobody. Maybe Oakland.

I'd be shocked if he got an offer for anything more than a single year on a, "at least prove you can suit up every week", basis.

His play this year has been improved but he's still going to miss 1/3rd of the year. I'd actually like to see him come back but there's not even a small chance that the team should consider his presence anything more than a bonus.

If he wants to earn big money he needs to go the Scandrick route; perform well, and then renegotiate.

Except for McCray, I wouldn't mind bringing them all back. I would not get into any bidding wars with any team for their services though. Make them take-it-or-leave-it offers.

Maybe I would match offers for Hardy and Crawford if they weren't too high.

The Cowboys have 18 free agents ... 16 unrestricted and two restricted.

What should they Dallas do with these players? What would you do?

Here's your chance play to Cowboys GM for a day (sorry, you don't get Jerry Jones bank account).

What would you do with these defensive free agents?

Keep 'em or leave 'em: Morris Claiborne, CBKeep 'em or leave 'em: Jack Crawford, DLKeep 'em or leave 'em: Greg Hardy, DEKeep 'em or leave 'em: Nick Hayden, DTKeep 'em or leave 'em: Rolando McClain, MLBKeep 'em or leave 'em: Danny McCray, SKeep 'em or leave 'em: Jeremy Mincey, DLKeep 'em or leave 'em: Casey Walker, DTKeep 'em or leave 'em: Kyle Wilber, LBKeep 'em or leave 'em: Jeff Heath, S (restricted FA)

The good news is I don't think any of these are make or break players.

Hardy, McClain and Claiborne are the best of the bunch. We've definitely got a replacement for Claiborne with Scandrick coming back and Hitchens and Gregory might can get the other jobs done ... although I'd feel better if we at least added a decent free agent end to pair with our young guys.

Exactly. For every player on the list, or almost every player, there's a dollar figure at which the team should say he's definitely worth it, and a dollar figure at which the team should say forget it.

Hardy was invisible. Plain and simple. I kept waiting to see a spark, but I saw him get handled constantly in games. Practically in an embarrassing manner. D Law and Crawford were the ones "creating opportunities". Gregory flashed, and I think with more time will be a huge asset. I'd rather have Mincey over Hardy, sadly.

Yeah your right, I guess all the distractions this season had nothing to do with it. Also being on the field more then half a game helps. Your right, he sucks.

He had tons of snaps. He played 11 games and got 7 QB hurries. Jason Pierre Paul (who I was wishing we'd have went after instead) had 23 QB hurries in 7 games after losing a finger.

But Hardy has all his fingers!

I was referring to the fact the defense is on thr field too much lol.

Keep Crawford maybe Mcclain if it's an incentive laden one year. Jettison the rest. Dallas needs an influx of new and fresh faces that can hopefully come in and make plays. Not those hardly warm bodies.

Claiborne - Keep him at a cheap deal, nothing more.

Crawford - Very cheap deal. Never saw the appeal in him outside of having a tremendous physique which means diddly squat in the NFL. Goal should be to replace him.

Hardy - I want him back. I wouldn't try to lowball him too much. Perhaps a very incentive laden contract.

Hayden - He's like J. Crawford for me...I don't see much appeal in him and would take him back under a low deal where we are trying to replace him.

R. McClain - Again, low deal and trying to replace him. Maybe he'll finally wake up one day and play to his potential full-time.

McCray - Low deal.

Mincey - He's gone. His knees are shot.

Walker - don't know much about him.

Wilber - Again, low deal. I like him on ST a lot. But, not too much to give him a big deal. I could see another team giving him a substantial ST contract.

Heath - I want him back. But, I never know what is going on with Marinelli and the safeties. He seems to love Church and have a love/hate relationship with Heath and Wilcox. I think Heath has improved enough to show that he can be a nice rotational safety.
