News: DMN: Cowboys free agents (offense): Keep 'em or leave 'em?

Keep:
Turbin, Dunbar, Hanna [because of Escobar injury], Leary
Brown, to compete in TC

Let Go:
Cassel, Clutts, Bernadeau, but can see possibly keeping, unless backup C is there somewhere.

I think we should keep Bernadeau as well. He shouldn't cost much, knows the offense well, and is a solid backup.

The Cowboys have 18 free agents ... 16 unrestricted and two restricted.

What should they Dallas do with these players? What would you do?

Here's your chance play to Cowboys GM for a day (sorry, you don't get Jerry Jones bank account).

What would you do with these offensive free agents?

I think Leary stays as an RFA, but losing any of the rest wouldn't hurt much. Berny's been a good backup, but we don't have to have him if we keep Leary although someone will have to show he can play center.

Would that leave martin as the backup center?

he's drunk on news.

Keep Leary, Hanna, Berny, move Dunbar to receiver and let him run wild until injury hits.

Bernardeau - Depends on what we do with Leary. I wouldn't mind trading Leary because I think Free has another year in the tank. Of course, depends on Green's progress as well just in case Free gets injured during the season. For now, I keep him at a low price tag.

Charles Brown - probably keep him at a low price tag. Nothing to lose.

Cassel - dump him. I would prefer to have a veteran backup QB if we draft a QB so that rookie can learn from the vet. But Cassel hasn't shown me he deserves to be on any team in the NFL.

Clutts - Keep him. Low deal, not worth much and isn't that good, but he's a body at fullback.

Dunbar - priority to keep him

Hanna - priority to keep him because Escobar isn't worth much and this is an offense that relies on quality blocking. And you never know...he might turn into a Gary Barnidge.

Turbin - keep him. He will be a low deal anyway. I think he makes for a good #2 RB if he can be more consistent in the pass game.

Leary - keep him. Might get a low deal on his anyway and then be able to trade him. Provides some nice leverage because he can be possibly dealt or he can be a top notch backup or he can become the starter and move either Collins or Martin to RT.

I think we're 2 years from being competitive
That said I'd keep both OL just to help out JF and whoever we draft in the first. Keep a RB.

Wow. Lots of people want Hayden to stay.

Meh, I don't care one way or the other. He'll be here if Rod is, we know that. Hayden is a decent backup IMO. I just don't want to see him starting at any point and time.
