Christine Michael would be nice to complete the RBBC, but I'd much rather have Ben Malena than Lance Dunbar. Maybe I'm a little bias, but I think he's just shiftier and runs better.

I don't think he is getting cut since Turbin has a high ankle sprain. They may try to sneak Rawls on to the PS.

Hey Bkight I know you are the smartest person on the board when it comes to cap money(next to Adam of course), so I wondered if you could tell me how much the Cowboys had this year to pay someone if we could trade for them.

No one has Adam's knowledge and info.

It is hard to say exactly until all the cuts are in and the IR guys get their settlements.

But we are roughly 8-10m under the cap all in with Hardy and everything.

We could afford a pretty decent player or two. If it really got tight we can always restructure Witten and Carr and get another 7m. Just think of it as a break in case of emergency fund.

Thanks I would like to see Dallas spend it, if we could get a player that would help us win the Super Bowl this year.

I'm betting Will McClay will have a good handle on who to go after when the time is right. Now, whether we're able to get him before other teams with a lesser record last year can claim him is another question entirely. I believe we'll be waiting toward the end of the line for that privilege. Therein lies the problem. The same rule that governs the draft order applies to waiver wire cuts. Of course, executing a trade would present the question of what to give up to make it happen.

I know he wasn't on our draft board the year he came out but:

I would be more interested in Michael than Ball. But I'm not convinced that he's better than Randle or McFadden. I'm willing to listen to arguments that could away me though.

I think he has far more upside than Randle, just due to his athleticism. He's a more powerful back than Randle will ever be as well.

But is he as good or better than McFadden? Even though it was 5 years ago, McFadden has at least had one successful season int he NFL. He's a proven great pass blocker and has some burst in the open field still. But Michael would be a far better complimentary back to McFadden than any other RB on our roster right now.

One thing McFadden really offers us is the ability to add a pure runner and give them fairly significant playing time. Im firmly in the "blah McFadden " camp, but reality is purely as a pass protector and receiver out of the backfield he may even be an upgrade over Murray in that respect. IMO he has that covered and will play passing downs. With him you have the ability to add a HB that doesn't have those skills to play run downs. He opens up the talent pool alot more because yoh arent necessarily looking for that all around guy

Michael is way better than West or Ball. I hope they can get their hands on him.

I would feel a lot better about our RBBC if we had another experienced NFL RB.

Michael, Ball, West or Gray at this point.

Here's you bottom line sir. Randle views McFadden as a one time novelty that won't stick. McFadden does nothing to raise Randle's competitive stick. Sure, in the short term, Randle would prefer to have the bulk of the carries but in the back of his mind he knows this McFadden thing won't stick past let's say for the sake of argument one year max...

That said, Michael shoots Randle's competitive stick through the roof. He's comparable in age and arguably has more potential. He's also a shifty bruiser (two things that don't often find themselves in the same sentence). As I have always said, competition makes you stronger. Randle would immediately feel the hair on the back of his neck raised if Michael were signed and he would indeed raise his level of play as a result. Not speculating. Truth.
