DMN: Cowboys won’t rule out adding young running back before the season

Man.... Ball was MADE by his Oline at WIsconsin. He's done nothing in the NFL. NADA....ZIP...ZILCH. Wish to heck alot of you guys on here would wake up. He has NO shot of coming here and playing IMO.

He ran for 4.7yds per attempt in his rookie season. He's not Trent Richardson.

He had a decent rookie season and missed time last year due to injury. He isn't a total write off quite yet.

I've read Montee Ball could be cut by the Broncos.

That would be an intriguing option given his pedigree and experience running in a zone blocking scheme @ Wisconsin.

Just watched the Broncos vs Cards game...Ball looks like he has lost all confidence...and knows the turk is coming. Late in the 4th he had 13 carries for 28 yards.

Was a big fan of his going into the draft. Would scoop him up.

It is really tough to judge backup and young running backs in preseason. Sometimes you see a big run and when you look at it closely, you see that any running back could have run through that hole. With that being said, I saw one highlight from Rawls last night. It was an impressive run. He showed quickness, made someone miss in tight space and extended the play after contact. Again it was only one run but it looked like a run you would see in a real NFL game. Not just a parting of the red sea and run to daylight.

I think ball would be better behind the Dallas line...A big run 1st line that was like his college team.

That would be a good place for him. Need to have backups that are ready to play and I think Malena would be ready to go if called on.

I'd let Dunbar go in a heartbeat for Ball. I've seen enough of Dunbar to know he's a waste of a roster spot at this point.
