With this defense? 439 points...big deal. Denver scored over 630. The 439 points also includes defensive scoring. Our defense improved year to year on turnovers/scoring and as a consequence we scored more points directly. Year to Year our offensive production was pretty flat. Balance has a history of winning super bowls , 65% passing has a history of winning zero super bowls. You can slant the ratio to the pass at 55-60% but we over cook the filet my man.

It's JG/ Callahan trying to be cute on downs we need to run, for clock or whatever and he passes it, which ends up incomplete, batted pass, a sack or a int. Blowing the close games by refusal to run because there's eight in the box. Who came up with that one?

Denver passed it 60% of the time and scored over 600 point we passed it an insanely 65% and scored 439 with a with some help from our defense.

I'm not saying the offensive philosophy can't be tweaked and improved some, but the elephant in the room isn't the offense.

Good point, the Cowboys didn't lose to Denver last year because of offense.

I look at it this way... Which is easier to make happen? Improve the offense by scoring 50 points more or improve the defense by cutting the points given up by 50?

I somewhat disagree. Yes weapons like Dez, Witten and Williams are key to the offense and I fully expect to see Dallas throwing the ball but I also see in Det they avg 27 rushes a game with backs whom I don't think are as good as Murray. I think Murray will be used quite a bit within the offense both rushing and recieving

Yeah but SF and Seattle think it's still a running league. They run more then pass even with QB keepers eliminated.

it is not so much that we dont run the ball, it is that defences make our offense predictable in certain situations, esp 3rd and short, there has to be a 'credible' threat to run in those situations so that we are less predictable

also, when you run smash mouth, the attitude of the offense is different, the OL is going downhill and not on their heels

also, teams like the niners and seattle put pressure on you with their front 7 and dont like to blitz a lot so they keep all their secondary players and it is difficult to pass against them, the way to beat them is to run against their front 7 which will force them to bring the 8th man in the box. if they can make you one dimentional with their front 7, even denver could not pass effectively against them

all these and several other situations 'require' an effective running game ie the ability to run even when the other team knows you will runv and the added unpredictability

we need to have a very very good OL and 2 RBs that can pick up the load given murrays propensity to get nicked up

we cant do that and garrett just does not get that
