I see Prescott standing around and I have higher expectations than I did for McGee. Physically he just looks the part.

Agree.

I don't think there was a single person on this board who thought McGee would amount to anything.

That's no guarantee that Prescott will, but I think the chances are that he will be.

We are on the same page. 4 of the nine picks were head scratchers. Hope I'm wrong..

One of the things I'm pleased with... Are the third and fourth rounders. Prior drafts the Cowboys were good for taking a guy like Brewster or Jayson Williams or Webb or Brandon Williams or Arkin... In other words a guy who's rated by many of the draft guides/experts as being a guy available much later than where the Cowboys chose them.

Not this year. It's the first time I can remember when both the 3rd and 4th rounders were both taken later than what the respect draft guides/experts suggested.

It may not be a lot to pin our hopes on but it's better than trying to defend a pick like Brewster or Jayson Williams who had no business being chosen in the 3rd round or Webb and Brandon Williams or Arkin in the 4th round.

Agree, his intangibles are higher also. McGee was a guy they thought could turn into a backup. There are scouts that think Prescott could develop into a quality starter.

More than any trait I'd like to see in him that I know for a fact Romo has is being a gym rat. Someone who is so enthralled with every nuance of the game they spend all their waking hours working out, practicing, studying, and watching film.

If this kid has that hunger, that desire and love for being great in this game, then it comes down to his natural talent and ability to execute.

But give me the hungry guy who lives and breathes the game of football up under center. That's the guy who will succeed.

What were the head scratchers?

I was going to say the same thing.

Jaylon Smith was a head scratcher for sure, maybe the TE but I understand why they did it. The RB makes sense when you consider McFadden is on his last year, Dunbar is hurt indefinitely and Morris isn't a roster lock. Everything else was pretty predictable.
