If he's gained more muscle mass and probably closer to 260 now then that's a good thing. He's already had a leg up on his development going into his 2nd year. If we can just delegate and simplify his duties as a pass rusher only then hopefully he can give us Aldon Smith as a rookie type production.

Aldon had one of the best rookie seasons of a pass rusher, ever. So that may be a little bit much.

Has Mincey taken snaps at DT? A Lawrence/Mincey/Crawford/Spencer package would be interesting.

He really does look physically different. Anyone else read that article and have a hard time keeping it from "moving".... Not that there's anything wrong with that ....

Well I consider them to have a similar skill set and Smith had to learn OLB, which can be tough for a rookie. He just has to come in and rush on passing downs for the rest of the season.

Mincey took some rushing snaps at DT earlier in the season when we were trying Wilber as a rushing end but that's been put to a halt. I think someone who summarized Mincey's interview on radio this week said he's waiting for Lawrence to get back so he can get back to rushing from the inside and take advantage of guards. In your scenario though, Melton is a better interior rusher than both Crawford and Mincey so he may take priority but that would be a nice little rotation for a playoff run.

I might have missed it so sorry if it has been answered elsewhere but when is he expected to return and play?
