This thread should be awesome.

Not really, he has been playing better. What is there to argue about?

*Hos whisper in my ear*

My bad, carry on with the over analyzing of what the opposing OC had to say in order to fit it with your agenda.

Missed? What are you referring to?

Maybe you were specifically referring to theebs and what he might have said in other threads but i don't see a whole lot of negativity here so far. Most seem pleasantly surprised and glad he has played well recently.

I was not speaking to Theebs regarding the agenda point but only to the mindset that is typical when content is posted here.

I have mentioned on a few occasions that I like what Barbie (this is a nickname that will stay with him for his entire career) is doing on the field.

His play is better this year that's for sure, especially the last few weeks. The sack was sweet, he really got there in a hurry.

He seems to be building up his confidence as with the rest of the defense. They look like they're starting to get a bite to them. They seem confident and they're starting to get a little swagger to them. They are starting to deliver big hits and intimidate opponents. It kind of reminds me of the Giants defense a couple of years ago.

I can't say that I disagree with anything you said. He actually is doing a better job then KB did last by simply being healthy. The gravy is Barbie is contributing. I hope he doesn't regress because we have some big games on the horizon and we need him to take his game to an even higher level.

What's it going to be then, eh?

He's playing decently well for his role.

However, I keep seeing him in on goaline packages and IMO, he doe not belong there. Get him out for any bigger, more physical LB for the goaline package.

The skills that people consider Carpenter's strenghts is actually one of the hardest skillsets to acquire playing football. A LB of his size that can cover? There's a reason he was a first round pick. The physical aspect that comes with being a LB is far easier to teach or pick up with time than pass coverage, which he's already good at.

Here's to him picking it up.

Sounds like a misdirection quote. Can't believe that an OC would do anything but ignore Carpenter or run right at him. I saw a good pass breakup, some push against a fair-sized blocker and of course the unopposed sack, which seemed like offensive line indifference, but as a whole he seems to be running around tagging the pile after tackles have been made. Some progress, but nobody to gameplan or pay much notice to yet IMO.

Not the smallest of LB's.

Im not saying he was on them all game, but It was nice too see him out there and finally playing like a first round pick.......

well sorta.

And I believe none of Gonzalez's catches came with Carpenter on him. I'm not sure about Carlson.

Agreed, but it's more about the way he takes on blocks and is at the point of attack. It's not his strength. He's doing good as the nickle backer where it's more of a mixture of things that he can be very good at. He just does not belong in the goaline package IMHO. For instance Brooking takes on blocks like a maniac that I can only hope can keep it up all season long.

He wasn't far from rock bottom. Going up isn't too tough when its the only way you can go.
