What is it about their accounting/philosophy/whoever writes the contracts that puts them continuously in cap hell
I seem to disagree with Goose a lot over the years but I think he nails this one.Hello Mr. Gosselin thank you for joining us today. If the Cowboys let Murray walk and the Cowboys then look towards the draft who do they choose? If they are sitting at 27 Gorden and Gurley are there who do you choose or you still draft defense with that pick? Thank you
The defense needs to be addressed. I don't see how the Cowboys can take a running back at 27 with all the issues they have on defense. Defense is what held the Cowboys back this season. They need impact players on that side of the ball and you find those in the first 2-3 rounds. My guess is they go defense in each of the first three rounds. Ryan Williams is an option at running back. So is Joseph Randle if he gets trough his legal issues. But the Cowboys can't keep stacking all the stars and all the money on the offensive side of the ball. The Patriots have Tom Brady -- but a defensive play won them the Super Bowl. The Cowboys need to upgrade their talent across the board on defense.
Reading Goose's drivel cost me minutes off my life.
Murray keeps saying he wants to stay with the team. It seems he's throwing them a bone that he will play fair & not ask for the ridiculous.
Haven't read how Dez feels but I sure hope they keep both those guys.
. But Goose's take that "the Cowboys could not have won a Super Bowl with their defense last year" just isnt true. NE had the 13 rated defense in the league, there wasnt one thing that stood out about their unit. Dallas was ranked 19th. The days of needing a dominant defense to win it all are dead. You have to play decent defense and force turnovers (that's been relevant forever), but needing a top 5 or even a top 10 defense in this day and age of offense is nice, but isnt an end all be all.
Goose writes about the NFL like its 1985.
It's like reading a Q&A from a poster. And not a particularly knowledgable poster.
Or they could actually get the prize...
I think Murray's waiting for the market, and will take the best offer a contender makes him. I believe him when he says he wants to win a Superbowl. He probably even gives us the right of first refusal.
And I think the Cowboys are perfectly ok with that.
