I'm going to cross your name off my thank you mister.

Please don't. That thank you thread had me so excited, I was relieved I was wearing my absorbent pants when I first read it.

I hope we can find another quality corner and leave Jones at safety.

Ready for Byron Jones to learn to turn his head around and make a play on the ball when covering receivers.

He has been excellent at covering the tight ends but has been beaten on the deep balls. This showed up in preseason also.

Not rushing Carr out until a real replacement is on the roster.

Actually that one pass down the sideline he did turn his head, I looked for it specifically due to all the cb's we have had over the years who are always chasing and never looking for the ball. He did turn his head but he did nothing with his hands or arms to break it up. Maybe he caught sight of the ball too late.

Ready to move on from Carr and Mo.
He is not there as a CB and i dont believe he ever will be a good one.

He is great against slower players like TE and he is build to cover those types of players but he lacks ability to play against WRs. I do think he can be a great player for us when used the right way (like we did with him in those other games). But he is nowhere near Carr or Mo nor being a starting CB in this league.

He could be our next Darren Woodson. Which i do see as a compliment and not a downgrade regarding his CB skills.

So far, the rookie CB class has looked tremendous with a number of really players standing out:
  • Marcus Peterson (KC) -- Has looked great in the games I've seen him play. Has 4 interceptions
  • Byron Jones (Dallas) -- Has flashed outstanding potential at slot CB / FS. In particular has done well covering big time TEs
  • Demaryius Randall (GB) -- Likes Jones a converted safety who has played very well as a man CB
  • Ronald Darby (Buffalo) -- Really really physical CB (50 tackles already) and has played very well in coverage in the games I've seen

I was right on Darby and Mel was wrong.

Take that, hair gel.

It's way early but based on the talent of the class and where the Cowboys figure to be picking, I would put CB as the most likely 1st round pick. Last year's corner will play safety.

What a moment that will be for me.

Doctor's have to clear him. Not up to him or his desire.

Its a hammy, and it's Mo. The doctors probably don't care that much about his LTH. If he says he can run, and he shows he can run. He's cleared.

Amazing that Injury reports always provided by Jerry Jones. It should be Jason Garrett's job.

And with the way Clutts is performing, we really need Robert Newhouse to gut it out and get out there on the field. Pick up the blitzes, open some holes, and block on special teams. Newhouse needs to step up, all that stuff about him passing away last year are just excuses that wimps make. He needs to suit up.

I hope Mo is willing to sign a modest extension/new contract. It isn't like he's played himself into a great contract this year.

Ideally, after cutting Carr we go into next year with Jones and Church at safety, Wilcox can back up both positions. Claiborne, Scandrick and Patmon with a 3rd/4th rounder and whoever on the cheap we can sign at corner.

I say we put more resources into DT, WR, QB. And pick up a LB with some range.
