I don't get why our protection gets a pass by our fans. The OL wasn't a good unit before Romo got here, and protection's been responsible or at least heavily involved in the major recent failures of this team in 07 and 08. It hurt us v. BAL and PHI at the end of the year last year, and it caused us to lose a home playoff game in what should have been a Superbowl season in 07. Protection got Romo hurt v. AZ. It lost us Matt McBriar in that same game. We lack depth and even our starters make mental mistakes. With the weapons we have, we've had key blitz pick-up meltdowns. Maybe our blitz protection is better on paper when you compare us to other teams, I don't know, but we've paid a heavy price for it breaking down at key moments.
This is an area of common ground for me and our usual group of reactionary whiners. I say we all get together, hug it out, and make this thread a long ***** session about our offensive line. Who's with me?
I'm with you all the way on this one. The team goes as far as Romo who goes as far as the OL.

First think I though then why can't they focus on the OL. OL doesn't sell I guess.

There were a couple of notable injuries already mentioned. There was the embarrassing Procter play when he didn't get out of his stance. There was the max-protection failure for 2 and half quarters in the last game at Texas stadium against a great BAL defense in what might have been the biggest game of the year other than PHI II. These are high-profile failures, yet the offseason is wasted talking about stupid TO-Romo-Witten disputes and Tony Romo choking in big games and lacking leadership. Makes no sense.
JJT, TMac. You guys read the board. Do us a favor and bring a little attention to a real issue on offense for a change. Make yourselves look smart in front of the hardcore fans. It's a gimme.
They beat their own drums to march to. Don't know why this is a difficult concept for some. It's always about blocking and tackling. Sure there are a few game changers and the pass is one of them. In the end though......
