Is it possible that he just plays small? Not sure...either way, I'm still not convinced he is a #1 corner.

I don't see him as small. You might just have been traumatized by how CJ handled him in Detroit, because CJ made him look small that day. He could have put him in his pocket and driven him home from the game.

Carr's a better CB than he's given credit for, but he's got issues when he has to trail a receiver across the field. I'm tired of seeing him a step or two behind on slants and crossing routes, with our S out of position, too.

Dunbar is talented, but almost no one on this roster should have complete job security. "Talent" without consistently contributing to winning efforts has been the theme of this team for at least half a decade. I agree with the notion we should draft a back in a later round to compete with our skilled but often hurt rbs.

You may be right. It's hard not to think about that particular day when Carr's name comes into a conversation. Having said that, I also remember that he struggled throughout the season. It was definitely an off year for him. Maybe it was the new system and a result of them asking him to do something that doesn't play to his strengths. But either way, he was a liability...especially against the elite.

I also understand that really good Safety play, can make a corner look great and he simply didn't have that to fall back on. But I do not believe that completely removes the blame.

In all honesty, are you completely okay with him being our starter; the guy we hope can take away the opponents best receiver?

I am. But it's the same story he can't do it alone. We have to fix the front 7 to at least being a respectful unit.

I think he's borderline in that role. He's capable of playing great, and he's capable of being abused.

I think our top three CBs are all capable of playing really solid man coverage if we had better rush support and a better second S. When you're stuck in zone with no pressure, everybody gets eaten alive. It doesn't help when your third string MLB can't cover well, either, and you're letting RBs come out of the backfield and extend drives. I actually think CB play is about the least of our worries on defense this season.
