Yeah, that was very insightful.
Guy has a tough injury who knows if he'll be the same player. Claiborne might want big dollars might not....no one knows what the Cowboys will do...thanks for the "chat".

Do we want him to be the same player jk I know what you mean

Not really sure why so many hate SO much on this guy. He had a decent rookie season, his second year wasn't good but nobody on here had a good season that year and then the only play he got beat really bad on this year was by Quick and then he had the game clinching int anyways. Let it be mentioned that Quick had some big games before his own injury. IDK, I understand why people are frustrated with him not being able to stay healthy for a corner is a huge concern but I still don't think he is as weak a link as most on here do.

Its tough. I don't hate him. I don't even know him as a person. I'm disappointed though. When you allocate a top 10 pick and a second rounder for a draft pick who JJ stated had the highest cornerback rating since Deon Sanders, you expect more. Really JJ did him no favors there. He had an average rookie season, but has not played up to potential every season since. Injuries are a big part of him never realizing potential. What bothers me the most is his mental strength. I think he lacks the mental makeup required to be an elite corner. Just watch him during interviews. No matter what he says, he always appears shaky and meek. Also, he left team meetings after being told that he would not be a starter.

Long offseason.

And it's important to remember the most informed fans reside on these message boards. A lot of this stuff that gets reported will seem obvious to you but maybe not for the casual fan.

I pity the casual fan (fool).

I don't think he's a bum just not as good as expected. And he can't stay healthy which creates problems with his play obviously and in fan perception.

They have stated they want to include him in their plans this year which IMO just means they will ride the contract out and hope for the best.

Been saying for over a year we need to get two more CBs in here although I'm not sure that might change depending on how they feel about some of the relative unknowns and Patmon et al.

They need to change their draft strategy on CBs.

I could see Claiborne actually being an effective CB in 2015 only because it's his contract year. It amazes me how many players miraculously stay on the field and perform really well right before getting a new contract.

Could happen....Just like Demarco Murray

I'm not going to hate on Mo. Yes, he's been a bust, but I vividly recall everyone on this forum when he was drafted telling anyone else who would listen how awesome he will be. How his ball skills were the best of any CB coming out in the last ten years and how he wasn't that far behind Patrick Peterson (also overrated in these parts). All of us were convinced that he was worth the move up in the draft at the expense of our #2.

You won't find a front office that hits on every pick; we didn't hit on Mo and it's time to look elsewhere.

#6 pick of the draft and makes me miss the likes of Jacques Reeves and Alan Ball. I wonder what injury will keep him out of training camp this year?

His patella tendon. I think they already said he won't be ready for TC. I think he starts the year on the PUP list.

Yep, I remember the Zone about this time last year when a fair amount of people were writing Murray off as "talented but can never stay on the field." Then, magically in his contract year, he takes nearly 400 rushes, runs for 1850, and becomes the model of consistency. And now a large contingent of the Zone want him back. Same could happen with Mo, though to a less dramatic extent.

Don't they need to make the decision to pick up his 5th year prior to TC start. If that is the case I hope no way they do that. 4 years ago they would now days highly unlikely.
I can see him contributing some this year as depth, slot type player. But if not a full TC participant, he may not be offered another contract, unless he plays well enough to get a mid level deal, over some other FA.

I can see at least, if not 2 DB's taken in the draft.

I am not giving up on Mo, I still believe that he will positively impact this team this season...if not? short leash....

I assume that he will contribute Zero and then anything he does contribute is a bonus.

Any draft value the Cowboys can salvage from him is very near the end. If he did come back and play really well in 2015, he is a free agent after the season and they would be picking between paying him or any other free agent.

He only has a short time between recovering from his injury and hitting free agency. If he starts the season on the PUP, then he will be out the first 6 games. That would limit his ability to provide any value to the team to 10 games and the playoffs before hitting FA.

I will be surprised if they don't draft a CB in the top 3 rounds.

If you think this was Jerruh's worse pick take a look at 98-01.

You can find several just as bad if not worse.

To me whatever scout claimed this bum was as good as Deion needed to be tarred, feathered, drawn and quartered; shot then hung.
