But on his weekly stop with The Ticket's Dunham & Miller show Thursday, Aikman said he would have been upset if criticism of his work during the Cowboys-Cardinals game came from someone he respected. I can't quote Aikman verbatim because I was driving carpool when he said it and Plano police take a dim view of those who write and drive.

I dont know what he said either "verbatin" BUT THAT IS FRIGGIN FUNNY and a nice low blow

:laugh2:

12-11 overall since we've been good.

Wow--thanks for the stats. It seems we never play well when he calls the games--I'm not sure what these numbers show.

Boomer was a very good QB. How good? Don't know. Trade places for him with Aikman and does he win 3 SBs. I really couldn't say but to me its not an outrageous possibility.

But he's dead wrong about Aikman. Troy bends over backwards to not be a Cowboy homer.

I don't think Boomer is that jealous but I guess he could be. I think it hit him wrong and he said things best left unsaid. He should man up an apologize IMO.
Boomer may be a turd but that was a hell of an offense he ran with the Bengals for Sam Wyche. I don't think Boomer could have won 3 SBs with Dallas but there's no way Troy runs that Bengal offense as good as Boomer either.

That we are usually playing good teams when Troy calls the game...........I hope.

Boomer is on the FAN (WFAN in NY) and for the most part is pretty cool. This week I can't even listen to him because he is caught in the wrong, he knows it...but can't admit it or he will lose face.

His partner is a total putz and keeps on pushing the subject. I find myself listening to Imus because of this latest Boomergate...lol...And us in the NY area know Imus sucks since he quit drinking.

And that is what we call...Broadcaster Cred...Who'da thunk it?

I now hate Boomer. If he watched the Giant game last year, he would know that Craytong blew that game at the end. Romo threw a TD and Crayton stopped.

Against Seattle, Romo moved Dallas down for a game winning FG, then Romo the FG holder blew it....not Romo the QB.

Detroit last year, Philly this year......the list goes on. He's been very good in any 2 minute situation. If Boomer actually watched the Cowboys, he'd know that. Instead, he says things that get attention.

I really hate the media.

Hrm. So basically when Aikman didn't call the game the Boys were 8-0 in 2007 and 3-0 this year.

It's kinda funny reading Boomers thoughts when here on the forum we sometimes criticize Aikman as being too hard on The Cowboys.

Well,Aikman did his damndest to jinx the Cowboys in last weeks game, when on the third down play when Arizona needed something like 17-18 yards for a first,Aikman said something along the lines that there would be no way in hell they would pick it up...Only they did,and went down and scored!Curse you Aikman!

Which is what makes the whole thing ridiculous, because anyone who follows the Cowboys knows Aikman goes out of his way to be non-biased.

The MOST ridiculous thing is that Boomer is the most irritating, uninformed, unprofessional commentator to ever do an NFL game, and HE has the gall to criticize ANY other announcer?!?!?!?!

:banghead:

Here's what Esiason said on a Boston radio station:

"It was the first time I heard a legitimate bias from one Troy Aikman towards the Dallas Cowboys. You would have thought that the Arizona Cardinals weren't even in the building. I mean I was taken aback by some of the things Troy was saying and I like Troy. I really do. He is a very bright broadcaster but the bias that was coming from him yesterday was actually stunning listening to it and I'm a guy who doesn't really have a bias one way or another. I don't think anyway. And I can listen to announcers do their games and not be upset by it...I couldn't believe some of the things he was saying yesterday. And I'm still wondering why he thinks Tony Romo is great in end-game situations. I don't really know that we have seen that especially in a big spot at all in his career yet."

For Barry and his Dallas readers who do not listen to WFAN on a regular basis, Mr. Esiason addressed this matter on the air this morning, reiterating how much he likes and respects Troy's football analysis and saying that he never before has noticed a pro-Cowboys bias from him, but not backing off from his assertion that he sensed it Sunday.

Is it only me, but isn't that backing off?

What a moron.
